Buying 2nd for Applesauce cook-down - great heat distribution on induction cooktop
Love these! This is my 2nd purchase of this item (try-ply full body - 6 qrt stockpot). Because it's wider & the heat distribution is so good, the apples for applesauce cook down more quickly & evenly top to bottom than several other quality stainless steel pans that I have (even better than the AVACRAFT 7 quart, Pasta Pot w Strainers). I prefer it over even that one. It also heats up water (for pasta) faster (induction cooktop), though maybe not as fast as my Instant Pot does on 'sauté'. Also love the lid strain & pour feature & that it has measurement marks for water level inside the pan. High quality & beautiful design too. Love almost all my Avacraft pans. Discovered that it was easier to use 2 of these smaller 6 quart tri-ply full body covered stockpot pans vs 1 huge pot to cook-down the apples. Their better heat distribution works faster & reduces the chances of scorching the bottom or having to turn/stir the apples excessively & also reduces the amount of water needed to start the apples cooking initially to less than 1/8 cup (compared to using one huge pot). Steam canning worked better too vs water-bath (less heat in the kitchen, faster processing time w getting up to heat & better flexibility w not having to put in a full 7 quarts each time because of water level). This pan (along w my VICTORIO VKP1130 steam or waterbath canner which can also be used as a big cookpot) has been a game-changer for processing large quantities of apples/fruit or acidified produce (like pickles/tomatoes) quickly w less mess & heat in the kitchen. I should also mention that my (VICTORIO VKP1130 steam canner) is now being sold under a different name (Kitchen Crop VKP Brands), but if you search by either of those names, the stockpot steam canner should come up that I like. It will show two different styles of steam canners for them, but I prefer the stockpot style as it has more uses. It can be used as a steam canner or a waterbath canner or a large cookpot for cooking down tomatoes', etc (more versatile), well worth the small increase in price over the other one (heavier duty too). Just remember w steam canners that you have to watch the water level, but I've noticed w mine that it doesn't go down very fast because of the lid. Here's it's link. https://www.amazon.com/Kitchen-Crop-Brands-Canner-Capacity/dp/B0075O2Z34/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=VICTORIO+VKP1130&qid=1697023172&sr=8-1

Very functional 6 Quart Stockpot
This 6 quart stockpot is the best I have ever owned. It has two pour spouts, glass lid with one vent on top of the lid so no more spill overs and silicone coated handles. They are very well made with induction 5-ply capsule bottom for even cooking. I also own several of the saucepans and use these everyday. These will last a lifetime!

AVACRAFT kettles are awesome!
AVACRAFT makes excellent quality, heavy duty kettles. 2 years ago I bought a 1.5 qt kettle with pour spouts & strainer lid & I love it. It's perfect for cooking vegetables & draining them - no more need to partially open the lid to drain & let the vegetables go out with the water! The kettle is very durable & works great on my induction cooktop. So I wanted a larger diameter pot to accommodate corn on the cob. I wanted the pot to be extra wide to handle long ears of corn & AVACRAFT once again fit the bill. It was a no brainer since I like the other pot so well. The 9.75 inch diameter is about as large as you will find &, once again, it is an excellent quality pot. This one comes with silicone coated handles on the pot & lid - another nice feature that many other brands don't offer.

Fully clad stock pot with a couple issues
The important thing about this pot, and the reason that I got it, is that it's a 3 ply fully clad pot all the way up for a lower price than you'll typically find with that feature. Most steel stock pots have a metal disc on the bottom that's the only place the pot actually has more than one layer, and that does help to initially spread out the heat, but over a long period of cooking you're going to get hot spots and uneven heating. I had a pot like that for many years and while it was fine for most things, I eventually wanted an upgrade. With fully clad construction, you're going to get more even heating on the bottom and the sides, with no "dead spot" right at the corner where the bottom disc ends where there's basically no heat at all (this is typical of pots with a disc on the bottom). So this is a well constructed pot in that way, and it's good and heavy for its size as a stock pot should be. That means it's going to hold heat well. Once you bring something up to a simmer, it's going to stay at that temp for a while even after turning the heat off. I'm taking a star off for two reasons, though. First, I got the strainer lid and my lid came dented while still in the box. It didn't seem to have been jostled or hit with anything; it was still secure in the box. Just seems like poor quality control. Since I'm in another country (where there seem to not be any decent stainless steel pots to buy locally), it's not cost-effective to return it. I was able to bend the metal back mostly into shape, but the seal between the lid and the pot is not great. That may be the way it is even with a non-damaged lid, though; the lid just feels very loose. The cheap pot I'm upgrading from also had a strainer lid but it fit more tightly. With this one, steam pretty much escapes everywhere even with the lid on, and when using it to strain while pouring, liquid goes out all over the place, not just through the strainer holes. Second, I'm not a fan of the silicone handle covers, and you can't really take them off. I knew this going in and that it was a compromise I was going to have to make to get a 3 ply stock pot of this particular size at this price, and with a glass strainer lid - I just didn't see many (or any) others. But I can still mention it in the review. They lower the oven-safe temperature of the pot and they also just feel and look kind of cheap. They reduce the longevity of the pot too; while stainless steel will last literally forever if you treat it right, silicone is lucky to last a few years. So I have no doubt that it'll come off on its own at some point, leaving a sticky mess and once that's cleaned up, thin handles that probably get really hot to the touch. (Otherwise why are the covers even there to begin with?) I do recommend this pot because again, there's not much like it at this size (not too big, not too small) and price. You can certainly get fully clad stock pots that are bigger and more expensive, but not many at this price or cheaper, and while I'm a little disappointed with the strainer lid, I did want that too and that further limits the options. Overall, it is more important to have a pot that cooks well than anything else. And this pot does cook well. I just worry about the longevity with those silicone handle covers.
