Rechargeable, with battery, no charging cord required, single-mode, Zoomable, LONG battery life
I've given these away to customers and for birthdays as well in cars and several places in the house and business. Not long after Christmas, people started calling me, asking me where I got them. When I went to point them at the link on Amazon, and the Buy Again goes nowhere. They wanted me to give them one of mine, but no way. These are the most practical flashlights I've ever owned. I've purchased many, and them for more than a year, and I've never had a single bad one. I'm elated to see them return just now, and I'm the first review. I have contacted those who were begging for mine and they have already ordered them. The following are the reasons why these are the perfect general purpose flashlight.- Vendors pride themselves (and lie about) how many lumens their flashlights have. These little flashlights are already brighter than the old D-size Maglites were on fresh batteries. Excess lumens = short battery life. It has a zoom so it can produce high-intensity lighting in a small area when necessary. You want something that will last long enough while you fiddle around to fix or determine what is wrong with your car and you aren't always recharging out of fear because you've used it a few times.- Vendors pride themselves on the number of modes they have. These are single-mode, On and Off, which makes them a rare find. Anything more than that is a nuisance. You simply end up cycling through the modes until you get to the one you always use anyway, the dim mode, so the battery lasts for more than a few minutes. You can teach yourself SOS in 20 seconds and nobody uses strobe unless it's for your bicycle.- Vendors pride themselves advertising "tactical crenelated bezels" to use your flashlight "to injure or blind attackers and cause confusion". Give me a break, better yet, practice with a big friend. If it is small enough to carry in your pocket, and it doesn't contain pepper spray or gunpowder, you'd better start with plan B.- To recharge it, you don't need a cord, the right cord, and be able to find it when and where you want it. The flashlight has a USB-A plug under the screw-on tail cap. Today we have devices that require Mini-USB, Micro-USB, and USB-C cords. When you see a cord, you have to look closely at the end to see if it's the correct one. It is likely that at least one of those cords you are fumbling with doesn't fit anything you own anymore, but you're not sure. However, if you look at the opposite end of the cord, you will find a USB-A plug which your computer, car, and wall adapter has, so you can get by with no cord at all. The tail cap has a cord on it which is useful for finding it back in your center console after charging it. For computers that don't have a USB-A port, they apologize by including a tiny USB-C to USB-A adapter for you to keep track of. Until the world goes all USB-C, the USB-A interface is only obiquitous USB interface. It covers USB 1.0 through USB 3.2.- They are inexpensive so you can buy a bunch of them and leave them in your car, work area, sleep area, and kitchen. You can give multiple of them away for Christmas and birthdays. How well they remember will be based more on how often and handy they find them than what you spend. They have smooth surfaced areas which makes them compatible with etching to be used as promotional items and they are not messed up with the vendor's name.
