Peer Pressure Gauge is fantastic! Norbert is a namuh (human spelled backwards) and everything he eats has jellybeans in it! I love jellybeans too, but this story is different! One day his teacher brings in a difficult surprise for Norbert to deal with, but how can he deal with it? Lets checkout more! Anita Dufalla has wonderful drawings of Norbert and his classmates. I love her drawings and you will to! They are better than mine!! Norbert's classmates have to try it because they don't know how peer pressure works for everyone. Peer pressure is wanting you to do it, but you don't want to. You can deal with peer pressure too! Billie says, "I like how it have lots of feelings." I agree with Billie very much. The feelings are mixed up. Technically that is true. Now go read it! I'm waiting for you to go read it!

My son asks for me to read this to him. Often. He is gaining insights that peer pressure is common and that it’s herd to buck but doable. My son is in second grade and likes this book. I think it’s a good conversation starter and helps kids know they are not alone, everyone faces this at some point. I’m hoping it also reinforces that putting pressure on others is wrong.

This book is a wonderful tool to talk about peer pressure! The book touches on many aspects of peer pressure. The teacher character in the story portrays a good roll where she knows the peer pressure is going to happen. The children use many different peer pressure strategies to try to get the main character to try the pizza and in return, the main character uses many different strategies to stand up to the pressure. Julia Cook has written another great story to help children!

In the story the teacher and the student were colluded to somehow hide the truth to test her students. The child had double pressure from the 'teacher' and his peers. I felt like the teacher was bribing her student to prove a point and set an example of what not to do.Unfortunately, it did not work for us. Confusing at the beginning. I would not recommend this to my friends.Julia Cook could have done so much better regarding this important topic. My son and I just love her books.

As a school counselor I am able to make good use of this book to reinforce the concepts of doing the right thing and making one's own decisions. I work at the elementary level. Excellent book.

My kids love it
