This item was very good quality. It was returned since it did not fit the hitch configuration on our RV.

This lock works very well. Because it’s spring loaded, it’s quick and easy to lock and unlock from trailer with one hand. Unlike others that have to be manipulated with both hands to operate. Simple but effective solution for securing your hitch. There is nothing that can be cut with bolt cutters. No way to punch out the key lock to defeat this thing. Is the key lock pickable? Probably. I would like to see a more secure keyed lock cylinder (1 star off). But not a deal breaker for me.

This lock looks like it will do a great job keeping an honest man honest. When I first opened the box, I was impressed with how heavy the tongue lock was. It felt like it was made of something. It was a bit snug on my trailer's ball coupler. But that is not a fault of it, just a limitation of "universal fit". A couple taps here and there and it is on or off. The small top lock was less impressive, but I didn't need it anyways. Then I picked up the included key. Instantly I recognized the key. CH751. The key provided was not labelled as a 751, but I pulled one of the dozens I have and yep, it works perfectly. Yes, I did just tell you all what key opens this lock. ( or at least the one I received ) I was a locksmith for several years and then did telecom for a couple decades. The 751 key is the number one key I have ever come across. 85% of all telecom cabinets and truck toppers use this key. It is so simple; it can be picked with either a bent or broken paperclip. I believe a one-armed paperclip could pick this lock. Throw back: for those that remember the last millennium, there was a high profile hom!c!de case that revolved around the fact that the suspect had one of those keys on his keychain.

I’m very happy with this lock kit. It’s well made and I trust that it’s keeping my trailer safely locked against my truck or when stand alone. Materials are strong and durable.
