Nice a stable ladder
Was easy to assemble and works perfectly in our 52” tall pool. It is a quality ladder and stable enough to withstand teenage boys. I did fill the legs with sand as suggested by the instructions since our pool is over 48” tall.

Good enough!
This is an acceptable above ground pool ladder assuming you follow the installation instructions and don’t weigh 300 lbs. Wife and I aren’t getting any younger and after building some external stairs for our 48” above ground pool I purchased this pool ladder to attach to the top stair step. I’d recommend this with following cautions:1) it claims 300 lb capacity but there is no way it will last with 300lb users. We are all less than 200 lbs so can’t be sure but I suspect 250 lbs is far more realistic expectation for a dynamic load such as a person using the ladder. The problem wouldn’t be in climbing straight up the ladder with weight centered vertically over the step.2) instructions cover the basic mechanics and I’d say the YouTube instruction video is required viewing but the big gap in all of it is there are some potential gotchas to long term enjoyment not at all covered in the instructions.3) I took a great deal of care to insure that during installation everything is level, aligned and not binding and the anchor point is in very solid wood. I don’t know how important that is and the installation instructions/video make no mention. In fact installation video shows a distinctly sketchy attachment to the deck.4) padding under bottom step also seems like a good idea and I just glued some dense foam from an old foam floor pad to bottom step. It adds some unwanted buoyancy but it’s invisible and works great. Garden kneeling pad, piece of neoprene, maybe some of that 1/2” blue insulation foam from Lowe’s/HD would all work great.5) reviewers seem to be unhappy that it floats but it doesn’t and it does float. Lay it flat in the water it floats. Stand it up and it doesn’t (in my 48” deep pool). Make sure you follow the directions and let it fill with water before screwing it down. At the moment mine is filled with water but I think it would last longer filled with sand or pea gravel. Pea gravel is easier but more risk to the liner than sand. For sure use a pad between footer and liner before screwing it down.6) the slide on mounting system has an inherent weak spot in that the moment arm is huge on the mounting assembly you screw into the deck and if you don’t defeat the ladder buoyancy the supports probably won’t last which is why even though water fill is recommended for my size pool I’m going to fill with sand or gravel. There is some pivot capability in the mounting attachment. I may be making too big a deal on this.I’d buy again though in retrospect considering we’re in our 70s and wobble more than we like I’d take a harder look at a brand that features a taller more rounded hand rail on top. Nothing wrong with this one but taller would likely be better for us.

Very sturdy, good
Built deck for our above ground pool and bought this ladder to go with it. VERY HAPPY with this! Looks so nice and is sturdy, nice landing area and good size steps. Color is beautiful. We did not use the fins for the back side of the ladder since we don’t have any little kids. Assembly was relatively easy, all screws & parts are there. We did put sand in the legs to weight it, as suggested in directions. That part can be a little tricky, so we put the ladder in the water first and one held it up and funneled sand while the other handed small containers of sand up. Worked great! Extremely happy with this!

Pool Deck Ladder
The ladder is replacing an old deck ladder that was used 16 seasons. I bought this ladder because it is the upgrade of my ladder from same Manufacture. It is made of quality material and made to last. The ladder was on sale and was a great value with free shipping. It arrived within 2 Days from ordering.

Wasted my money
I don’t understand all the good reviews. This ladder is just bad in so many ways. The instruction sheet is worthless. The ladder will not even come close to supporting 300 lbs as it says it will. I weigh 121 and gives with my weight.I thought I would never get it stop floating and it’s still not stable. I read the instructions and watched the video. I am glad actually that I followed the video. I the instruction sheet says to put sand in the ladder. My advice would be not to do that. Why? Well, I just put water in the legs and was glad I did because the water started coming out the legs all the way from the bottom to the top. If I have added sand and water I would have sand all over the bottom of my pool because it would have washed out the holes that were already in the ladder. The back pieces that are supposed to “pop” into the little platform have nothing to pop in to. So they won’t stay in the little platform. They came out whenever I moved the ladder….when I carried it to the pool, when I tried to put it in the pool, after I put it in the pool …. The water movement made them come out and float around. They surely will not keep anything from being behind the ladder. I ended up just taking them off because they are pointless. The bottom rung of the ladder is also supposed to “pop” onto the legs of the ladder. Again, nothing to pop onto. The legs go as far into the rung as they can go and every time you move the ladder they come out and you have to start all over again. The last straw was when it fell off when I put the ladder in the pool and I had to get in the pool to retrieve the rung. I had to put a screw in both sides to hold it on legs. Not supposed to put a screw in the bottom rung but the legs sure don’t pop in and stay there so how else does a person get the legs and bottom rung to stay together? Finally it would not be still in the pool at all. Constantly floating up. Bottom rung not touching the pool bottom of the pool at all. So I pulled the whole thing out of the pool and drilled several additional holes in the legs to allow more water in. You would think once the legs and rungs are full of water it would stay put wouldn’t you? Well, that would be a nope. You would think that the predrilled holes would be enough to allow water to fill it and steady it. But nope, more holes definitely were needed and didn’t help a whole lot.Why am I keeping it? Well, I did drill extra holes to let in more water and I put screws in the legs to attach and keep the bottom rung and legs attached to each other so I am sure I won’t get my money back because of that. THAT is the only reason I am not yanking it out of the pool, drying it off and returning it.It is not anywhere worth what is being charged for it. I have had a pool in my yard for almost 30 years. I had one pool for 27 years and my new pool for 3 years. I have gone through quite a few ladders in my pool experience and this is the worst one I have come across yet.I blame myself for this loss of money. With my pool experience I should have known when to stop trying to make this ladder work and just drained it, put it back in the box and sent it back instead of trying to make it work the way it should.I am not a happy customer … as I am sure anyone reading this can see
