You'll need to learn a new language
I have to say I'm profoundly disappointed in this book. I have been weaving for over fifty years, and am familiar with the assorted ways drafts are written. Here, the author attempts to re-invent the wheel, and in her enthusiasm, falls short of the mark. She has overcomplicated what should be simple, and asks that you learn a new vocabulary in order to follow her instructions. She does not provide a glossary ("What the heck is a 'secondary thread,'" you might ask. "Is she talking about the tabby?") The layout of the drafts requires repeated and annoying cross-referencing to the front of the book, with no index to take you to the appropriate page. The patterns are lovely (the loveliest, of course, only weavable on an 8-shaft loom), but I doubt this book will be taken down from my shelf very often.
