Used on VW exhaust. Was easier to use than I expected and the helicoils added strength to my magnesium case. I may do the rest I liked the result so much.

It comes with steel tools and a hard case. I like it a lot. Ill go out of my way to get these sets before others even though i gotta wait for it to ship

I've used Heli Coils for decades. I bought this to repair one hole with no probable expectation of using it again. Anyone that gets the opportunity to repair damaged threads probably has also experienced easy outs, drill bits, and taps that can break off in a hole. One has to realize that excellent drill bits are outrageously expensive. Drill bits from the box stores last only one or two holes in anything but wood regardless of the pretty finishes. Right out of the box, 1/2 inch of the drill bit broke off even after I stepped up the holes. That went into the trash. Fortunately the bit failed before getting to any depth. I was able to pick it out. The tap is light duty, and the replacement thread coils are light duty.I was repairing a hole in a vintage nearly irreplaceable water pump on my 1985 Mack truck which is cast iron. I am disgusted with ROC and the American companies that went overseas. Their is no substitute for supreme tools. A good drill bit would cost as much as this entire kit. Negative stars would be appropriate.

Did the job. Have had some stripped accessory bolts on my aluminum engine block for awhile. Finally broke down and bought this kit. Took me about 20 minutes to repair two holes and now everything tightens up like it's suppose to.
