Q: It says it comes with a pound of ceramic media. Does that mean just the brown rocks and not the white and greenery shown in the picture?

It does not come with any decorative items, it only comes with the substrate which is sort of gray and brown, it is not decorative, and even though 1lb seems like enough you will want to order more. The white rocks pictured is the "Zen pebble pack". The green plants shown are also ordered separately, I would recommend you go out and by live Marimo Moss balls- they are almost zero maintenance, and have all sorts of benefits.

Q: For betta: Indoor temp is +/- 68 degrees F. Should I get a BiOrb heater? Distilled vs treated tap? Is a betta bothered by those colored lights?

The heater is a good idea if your home temperature is not consistent. Use treated tap the first time as fish need minerals too. When you do water changes, taking water out, fill with treated tap. But if you are just topping off for evaporation distilled or R.O. water is best as you do not wish to increase the mineralization in the tank beyond its original content. When water evaporates the minerals are left behind. The air bubbles and disturbed water are more likely to both the fish than the lights. Nate at Practical Garden Ponds 484-356-5351
