Two more of these because I can't imagine not having at least one! Great knives for just about everything except chopping or splitting wood, but for carving... I have all the other wooden handle carving knives from Mora, but they're all Carbon Steel, and meant to be oiled or waxed for protection. They're excellent for carving, but for just one knife I pick this Stainless Steel blade. It takes a beating and stays sharp! The steel is very hard and the only way to get that fine edge back is with a diamond hone. It's also a great bargain at the price. Don't let the plastic handle fool you into thinking this knife isn't as good as those full-tang versions for carving. The plastic is Very Tough, hard to cut and hard to drill. There you see the 2 new ones with the one I've had for years. The paracord goes through a diagonal hole that you need to use a tiny bit to get through to the other side then work up to large enough diameter to easily push the paracord through. This is an old bushcraft way of keeping your knife from leaving your grasp (which is important with a knife this sharp!) the old one on the right has just enough room for the little finger, the other two are more relaxed for the last 2 fingers. I also saw off the belt hanger because I either carry the knife in my pocket or it's in the tools bag with the other cutters, scrapers, rasps and chisels. This Stainless Steel 3 inch Carving Knife is well worth it and an excellent tool for carving!

Morakniv Woodcarving Basic Sandvik Stainless Steel is a knife that boasts remarkable sharpness!
When I came across the Morakniv Woodcarving Basic Sandvik Stainless Steel on Amazon for $16, I thought to myself that I should buy it. I had never purchased any items from this seller before, so I was concerned about the possibility of receiving a counterfeit product, and I planned to return it if that were the case. There are ten steps involved in the authenticity verification of Morakniv knives, and due to their popularity, the risk of counterfeiting is quite high. I received the knife in a plastic sheath, which I do not plan to use, since I have already ordered a leather sheath from Temu for under $10, and this knife fits perfectly in it. Please refer to the pictures. I verified the Morakvin logo, which appeared to be professionally made, and when I ran my fingers over it, it felt very smooth. If the logo looks like it was made with a hatchet, it is more likely a counterfeit product. The blade of this knife is very sharp right out of the box and has a mirror-polished finish. It is an excellent quality knife. It has maintained its sharpness for quite a long time. I was carving a spoon from cherry wood for more than an hour; I know it is a little slow, as I am still learning, and it still retains its original sharpness. I really like this knife and I am planning to buy it again.

Best wood carving blade
One of the best wood carving knives, i've ever owned. High quality steel, easy to keep a sharp edge.Allows me to carve freely and with great detail. And control for hours on end. If you need good steel, you buy from this company.

Moriniv is always a smart choice, whittling is no different!
My 11 year old daughter wanted to learn how to whittle, so we’re on this adventure together. I bought her a different one with a couple extra safety features, but love this one for me! I’m a knife guy and this is not my first Moriniv! Solid European products at prices that seem too low. I don’t have much to compare it to as far as whittling, but the grip to blade ratio is perfect. Blade has a nice grind and edge, too. The grip is a little slick, but shaped perfectly. I may rough it up a little, or add some tackiness. Easy 5 stars!

Nice knife, needs a belt clip.
Very nice knife for the money. My only complaint is that it does not come with a belt clip to hook the sheath to.

Razor sharp!
I was skeptical of buying a stainless steel carver. I prefer high carbon. But this knife was shaving sharp right out of the box! It slices wood like butter! The steel is Mora's 12C27 skandiv SS. Which should hold an edge like other Moras. Handle is plastic but not cheap. Feels good in the hand.

Typical outstanding Mora quality for minimal cost
I bought specific wood carving knives, yet this inexpensive Mora is of much better build quality and works much better. If you just want a superior yet inexpensive knife for whittling wood by a campfire, this is perfect. And at $10-15 it’s a no brainer.
