This took forever to arrive, but once it did, it did not disappoint. This is a classic large spring toy. Our kids have had a blast with it. As is expected, the plastic versions don't go down stairs as well as the metal ones, I think it's just that they don't have the same weight and perpetual motion associated with that weight once it gets going. But I've found this with all the plastic springs I've owned. Nontheless, it's reasonably priced and a great stocking stuffer or addins toy.

My classic test with slinky-type toys is to let them run down stairs, which this one did just fine. I wasn't sure at first if the plastic would work as well as the older ones made of metal, but that isn't an issue. The colors are very fun. My only quibble is the design - it is very large even for my small adult hands. However, if this is the first coil spring toy a child has played with, they won't know the difference.
