Works perfectly - if you set them up properly
I have 10 of these in a chain, driven by a Teensy 3.5. They work perfectly, once I did a bit of fiddling.I use DMA in the Teensy to drive these. They were a bit unstable until I changed the PWM waveform timing to 80% on-time, 20% off-time, for each "1" bit. Even a 70% on-time gave uneven results.I used to think the Neopixels are center-sampling on the input waveform; now I think the sampling runs a bit late.Do provide the drive resistor, and bypass each LED. They're noisy on the power lines...

Super Bright and runs off 3.3V
I am using these as a status indicator with an ESP8266. Libraries to drive them are readily available on GitHub. Unlike the WS2811, these work on 3.3v and are plenty bright. It's recommended you place a .1uf capacitor across the power legs and a 470 ohm resistor on the signal lead in series.

RIDICULOUSLY BRIGHT BUT TERRIBLY INCONSISTENT
These are designed to be daisy-chained but so far only 2 parts out of 10 have worked correctly when two devices are linked data-out to data-in. The others just flash colors randomly and act as though the data has been corrupted once receivedNOT recommended

Poor quality
2 out of five came defective

Work as expected. I was even able to get them to work with 3v3 power source.
Left one cycling through colors and had it powered via an esp8266 with 3v3 power with no issue. Worked on 5v as well without issue.

Controled Multi-color LED
Great product to generate any color at any light intensity. I use as a multi functional status indicator.
