Great start to learning how to eat clean
I admit that I love eating bad food. Love, love,LOVE it! But because of that, I noticed that my energy levels have been decreasing more and more over the years. So after hearing about how clean eating can improve your life, I decided to buy this book because I thought it would be educational and at the very least, give me the basics. I am so glad that I did. I've already ready it twice and have noticed my energy levels have gone up a lot, now that I am eating a cleaner diet. Great book if you want something educational and not preachy.

I think that information is probably on a good level for the layman (despite advocating the pseudoscientific idea ...
I was interested primarily in the recipes section. Turns out there aren't that many recipes, most of them call for ingredients I've never heard of/doubt I would be able to find, and don't really sound that tasty anyway. I would expect, from a book meant for someone who is used to eating more processed food and not used to preparing food with a lot of fruits and vegetables, that recipes would be as simple as possible and as appealing as possible. The authors don't seem to have made any effort. Either that or they are just oblivious to the fact that folks eating fast food day-to-day probably aren't ready to eat/prepare most of these recipesI am a well-educated health professional, so I guess a lot of the information about what constitutes clean food and how to read nutrition labels isn't really for me. I already know all of this. I think that information is probably on a good level for the layman (despite advocating the pseudoscientific idea that difficult to pronounce ingredients are inherently bad and promotion of supplements). But I don't really see the purpose of extolling the benefits of cutting out processed food for half the book when the reader is probably already sold on eating better, otherwise they wouldn't be reading it.

The recipes are also a nice touch if you need some inspiration
I decided I wanted to change how I cook for my family, but didn't want to stick to a particular diet - and this book gave me the answers I was looking for. It's more of a philosophy on what to eat and why it's healthy, so it's basically something you can stick to for life. The recipes are also a nice touch if you need some inspiration

Further Research Required
I have enjoyed reading for the most part the Eating Clean for Dummies book. However, I am disappointed with some of the inaccurate statements made throughout particularly in relation to the Paleo diet. In reference to the Paleo diet the authors claim that those who assume the lifestyle abstain from eating carbs however this is erroneous because there are carbohydrates in both fruits and vegetables which is a main component of the Paleo diet!!! This inaccuracy has made me reflect on how much truth is in the book.

Very Informative and EZ to Read
The only thin g I regret is having purchased a Kindle copy. It's a pain going through it in my reader when I want to find something specific in the content. With a hard copy I could use post it notes to earmark what I consider important info. As for the content, it is fantastic and not difficult to grasp. I've learned a lot and now to take action on what I've learned.

Great information!
i've been an advocate for the "for Dummies" books for awhile. Although thety arent going to give you super extensive research on any subject, they give you wonderful depth of information on the subject. I like to buy them on something i know nothing about but want to learn. After reading this I almost subconciously find myself making "better" decisious on what i should and should eat. Great information.

very helpful
This book is very helpful for someone who is just starting to eat "clean." It includes information on harmful food additives, chemicals, and other things in processed foods. There are lots of helpful tips on what foods to buy, which ones to avoid, etc. Recipes are included in the back of the book.

This book has helpful information for clean eating, but the recipes were not the best for our family with small children.

Brilliant book for clean eating novices
I love this book. It's informative, practical and has a common sense approach. I loved the chapters on why we need each vitamin and food group and the negative effects of sweeteners on the body. I've recommended this book to friends.

Full of inaccurate information
The book relies on clichés and the authors do not appear brave enough to give the correct information and support the supplement industry.

I know it what you expect with this product but there is a lot of information to get through. I think it is down to user issues
