Great Value
If you are like me, you are asking, why is this so much cheaper, and will I get burned? I received the 7 hp Hankai 4 stroke two days ago. It is packaged very securely. It is heavy, and by that I mean quality construction. Fit and finish is very good. I was concerned about the hp rating, but through research see that 7 hp is reasonable from 196 cc. This has a metal 3 blade prop, English instructions, and even an extra spark plug and pull cord/tools. It has a kill switch and cord, and looks really nice too. I am pleased and qill update after some usage. I will be using it on a 14' aluminum boat.Update: I filled the lower unit with oil, pu in engine oil and gas, and it started first pull. Starts easy every time. Some of these reviews are for different products…this unit DOES have reverse. It shifts easily. At lowest idle it moves along well. The motor is moderately loud, and does have some vibration. For the money though, this is a great way to save a couple thousand bucks. Took it out today and caught several bass…and that’s whybI bought it…to fish, not for speed, water skiing or something else unrealistic. It has a great tilt up for transport, and you can adjust the angle of the motor to suit your set up. I have not found anything cheap on this motor. It runs like a top, and pushes my 14’ aluminum boat with me along very well.Like any motor, if you take care of it, it will run well for a long time.

This thing is pretty badass.
I was worried at first with this being a Chinese motor, but I welded together a bracket for it and some stabilizers for a canoe and it’s awesome. This bad boy cranks up 2nd pull when it’s cold and then first pull after that every time. You barely even have to pull the cord. If you know anything about a boat motor and you want a small one, this one ain’t bad especially for the price. Just follow the directions exactly as it says and ignore how the instructions are translated so bad it’s hilarious. Mine came with plenty of gear oil in the foot and I only had to add gasoline and add oil in the oil tank for the motor itself. Cranked right up. Anyway I don’t know what else to tell you about it. It’s a cool little motor. Worth it. Probably pretty easy and reliable for a young person just starting with boats and stuff.

motor cap didn't fit well
The motor cap didn't fit tight, so when I was transporting the motor the cap fell off and was lost. Is it possible to purchase just the motor cap for this unit. Please let me know

Good little 2 stroke
I purchased the 12 horsepower Hangkai 2 stroke. I previously had an eight horsepower Nissan 2-stroke and a six horsepower Mercury four stroke. The Nissan was a tohatsu and really the 10 horsepower was the same motor but just tuned differently. I have found that this 12 horsepower motor does have more power than my Nissan did. It is able to get my wife and I up on plane in our RIB which was our goal. It is also still about the same weight as my previous two motors so I can still lift it. I noticed they have made the motor look very similar to a Mercury and so wonder if it's a clone of a two-stroke Mercury. I am now nearing the end of the break-in period and have stuck to the recommendations for break in. All in all at almost the 10 hour mark I have been happy with the motor.

Warning
Nice engine. Added gas and oil . Started 2nd pull. Runs nice. The manual is in English. It says factory added lower end gear Oil. Not! It was just wet at best. Please add oil to it also

Great Motor!!
If you follow the directions for start up and break in, you will love this brand if motor. It came with high end NGK and Bosch plugs....yep, 2 sets. I flooded the motor on initial start up, cleared the fuel, swapped plugs and it fired right up. Now half choke, 1 pull and she fires right up. It is a 1:1 knock off of a 9.8 hp Tohatsu 2-stroke. I am about 1/2 way through the 10 hr break in period, and it runs great on my 11 Saturn inflatable. If the lower hp engines are anything like this one, they are a tremendous value!!

Bad A little motor
Super quiet, plenty of power to run out our little 14’ Alumnacraft. With my Dad and I (500 combined lbs of redneck) we were able to go anywhere we wanted on roughly 10% throttle. Outboard motors are expensive, but this was the cheapest option we could find. Glad the quality is good and the motor is plenty powerful so definitely worth the money. One tip: the owner’s manual is in Mandarin so unless you’re a fluent Chinese speaker you’ll want to email the seller for an owner’s manual in your preferred language. He obliged quickly and sent us over a PDF in English in less than 24 hours.

Nice but slow
Motor was packaged and delivered perfectly. English instructions were provided. Setup was simple. Motor starts easily and runs well.A little on the noisy side. Unfortunately I found the motor incompatible for my needs. It would only push my 14' mirrocraft with myself and my fiance (320 combined weight) 6mph. With the Wisconsin River running 4-5mph it would not work well for me so I returned it.
