Q: Does this sweatshirt feel like a regular sweatshirt, or is it a little smooth almost shiny to repel the water

It feels just like a regular sweatshirt. It's not shiny at all. The only difference from a regular sweatshirt I would say, is that the material is a lot thicker and more durable. Even though it is a rain defender it is nothing like a rain jacket.

Q: How much will this shrink when washed

Nothing at all. Had mine for over a year now and wash 1x a week. Still fits like the first day

Q: I am 6'2 and a lean 190lbs. the xl was a perfect fit as for the lengths, but it was too loose/baggy. should i go for the large or large-tall?

Do they make it in large tall? That would solve the problem.

Q: Does it Shrink after tumble dry?

Typically I tumble dry it slightly, then lay it out to dry, flat. Using this technique, I have found no shrinkage. I do not know if it would shrink if I dried it in a dryer throughly.

Description

The heavyweight champion of sweatshirts is made of 13-ounce, 75% cotton/25% polyester fabric and has a Rain Defender durable water-repellent finish. The zip-mock collar has an 8-inch antique-finish brass zipper. It is designed with spandex-reinforced rib-knit cuffs and waistband to keep the cold out. There's an attached three-piece jersey-lined hood with draw cord and front hand-warmer pocket. The Carhartt logo is embroidered on the front left pocket.

Heavy Duty Comfort

Hands down the best hoodie out there. I have tried dozens of hoodies for work and was looking for that thick heavy duty warm hoodie and this was it. I guess I have never looked at the heavyweight option when purchasing carhartt before because I have a couple other sweaters that are probably mid weight and are still good hoodies but cant compare to this one. I don't even use it for work actually. Loved it so much and its so comfortable its just a part of my regular hoodie rotation. Definitely made with quality materials and just as described its a heavyweight proper hoodie. Wouldn't normally spend this much on a hoodie I was planning to wear for work but after reading the reviews when I came across It I just bought it and glad I did. It worth the money
