Basic, no frills with two cameras....
Motorola makes a variety of well-reviewed baby monitors. I've owned several systems by Motorola, and they have performed reliably. When purchasing a monitor system you need initially to decide whether you simply want a home-based monitor for when you and your child are both at home, or if you want a system that works over the internet and thus can be used with your phone remotely. Phone based systems are often more convenient for home use as well, since you're probably in ther practice of keeping your phone with you even at home, removing the need to carry around a separate video monitor.Motorola makes two types of video monitors. One type connects to a handheld unit via 2.4Ghz radio and is not wifi enabled. it's a basic unit with fairly long range for use only when both you and your baby are at home. The other type connects both to a handheld screen AND, via wifi to your phone allowing you to monitor your baby both when you're at home, and via the app, when you're away from home. This is not a wifi model. It connects only via 2.4Ghz radio to a handheld receiver screen. It DOES, however, include two cameras so you can watch two children in two separate locations with your handheld screen. The screen works with one camera at a time, or with both camera feeds displayed on a split screen. Handling of the two views can be frustrating to keep baby or child in view at times....OK, a few noteworthy features. This is a very basic, non-internet enabled monitor system from Motorola. Its unique selling point is that it comes with two cameras. But the video screen is low resolution and small. OK, other details:1) Zoom, pan and tilt are digital (manual tilt of camera is possible on setup--the connecting stalk can be tilted).2) Camera is capable of 1080p resolution, I believe, but screen can't handle that full resolution and so higher resolution from camera is meaningless.3) Monitor battery life under three hours...4) 4.3-inch lcd screen in monitor is clear with good color and visibility. Better systems have 5-inch monitors and some have 1080p resolution but this screen is capable only of displaying 480x2725) Typical additional abiilities include: night view, 2-way intercom, room-temp monitoring, lullabies.6) Camera mounts for wall included. The only reason to get this system is if you're looking for the cheapest video monitor option from Motorola with two monitors. Otherwise, you would be well-advised to get an intenet-capable system from Motorola like the VM65 which improves upon this system in many ways while only costing $70 more.

10/10 do NOT recommend
We previously had the owlet camera (and sock) which we absolutely LOVED. However, it had to connect to our WiFi and it was hacked and someone was watching my baby while slept (i was traumatized). So i wanted to get a camera that didn’t have to connect to the WiFi. Also, i just had another baby so i needed a second camera as well. I ordered this, and set it up and was immediately disappointed. It’s so zoomed in that i can’t see my daughter’s whole bed. She is in a crib and so putting it across the room isn’t an option, as i cant see her in the crib bc of the bars. I tried hanging it above her crib, however, not even half of her crib is visible, and it’s hung up almost to her ceiling (we have 9’ feet ceilings). It doesn’t tilt at all. The night vision is AWFUL and so blurry. So unacceptable for the price. I only saw positive reviews written, which makes me feel like they only allow positive reviews to be viewed bc there is no way, no one complained of this. It makes absolutely no sense to have it zoomed in this much. Will be returning this asap and not going with this brand at all. I thought going with Motorola was playing it safe since they are a well known company, but no. 10/10 do NOT recommend. Wish i could give a zero star!

Good for baby's room and toddlers room
I have been using this Motorola Baby Monitor - VM34 Video Baby Monitor for more than 5 months now and below are my comments:Night Vision -is adequate for my use. Very useful while I am working at the office and have the lights turned off in our baby's room.Range -our baby's room is about 80' from my office and in between are several doors and hallways. I am happy to report that I don't significant latency issues. No choppy video here.Quality -like I have said, I have been using this for more than 5 months now and I never had any negative issues. It just continues to work.I will continue to use this Motorola Baby Monitor - VM34 Video Baby Monitor and will update my review if needed.

Way better than Nanit
I had been using a Nanit cam for my second daughter, but we were aggravated because when the internet goes down, so does the camera. We picked this up to try out with our newborn son, and it is wonderful. Being able to use both the internet and the handheld is great. The picture quality is also much better.

Night vision is AWFUL!
We originally had the VM44, but after our screen was unfortunately broken I needed to replace it. Because we never used the Wi-Fi feature I decided to save 50 bucks and buy the VM34 instead.BIG MISTAKE!The night vision on the VM34 is horrible. I had it about 4 feet from my sons bed and he was all just black and white blobs. Which basically made it useless. Fortunately my camera from the VM44 still worked with the VM34 screen. After swapping them around during a nap I realized not only is the VM44’s video quality better, but it also has a wider field of view.Don’t waste your time with this monitor unless you only plan to use it in well lit rooms 100% of the time. Spend the extra money on the VM44 instead.

Doesn’t hold charge
I love it for my kids to be able to put one camera each room but the parent monitor doesn’t hold a charge longer than 45 minutes.

GREAT FOR WATCHING THE BABY
I like this product and think its a great value for the price. I like the modern and sleek design of this cameras. The quality of the materials are pretty nice and seems pretty durable and made to last. The cameras are free standing and can stand on their own without being propped up. The camera has video and audio and can detect low sound talking. It also has two way communication and you can talk to the baby through the camera. It also has a different assortment of calming lullabies which is great for bedtime. The picture quality is good and the audio works very well. I feel very safe using this product to help me watch my child.
