It's smooth, a mix between a felt tip and a gel pen. That also gives you an idea of its thickness. If you're looking for a very fine elegant line, look elsewhere, if, on the other hand, you want a thinker more luxurious nib, this is a wonderful choice.In the pack I purchased, I received three rollerball cartridges. So far, I've been using it for a few weeks and I'm yet to empty the first, so three should keep me going a while. I have it in blue, but they are also available in other colours which is nice.Well worth spending your money on.
