The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes : illustrated Abridged Children Classics English Novel with Review Questions

This series is terrific. My fifth grader is required to have a silent reading book with him at school everyday. He loves these “highlights” versions of classics and it is good exposure for high school reading lists.

I purchased this collection of stories for my 12-year old nephew as an introduction to the Sherlock Holmes character. I am happy to report that he thoroughly enjoyed the easy reading and guessing along with the story, trying to solve the mystery before the great detective did. As an introduction to Holmes, I wish this edition had included 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' but that's a very minor quibble since all of the stories are fantastic and great for all ages.

Classic novel written for pre-teens to enjoy. The pictures help the kids' imagination go wild.

In comparison to the price, the book is still relatively expensive. While the quality of the content is acceptable, a price point of 150 rupees would have been more reasonable. The font used is satisfactory, but the illustrations could have been improved with the use of color or better design. The quiz at the end of the book is adequate but could be enhanced. Sherlock Holmes is an incredibly fascinating and delightfully strange read. Every chapter keeps you hooked with clever mysteries, unexpected twists, and the brilliant deductions of the world’s most famous detective. The stories are weird in the best way possible full of suspense, quirky characters, and mind-bending puzzles. If you enjoy intriguing plots and masterful detective work, this book is definitely worth purchasing!
