Excellent guide to get started with MSP432
This book was a pleasant surprise. It has the right balance between theory and practical programming. I am fairly new to embedded programming but I do have a basic understanding of microcontrollers & its peripherals. My need was a book that would explain the concepts in a simple manner, provide a brief overview of registers &their important settings and then dive into programming. This book does exactly that. There are numerous examples to illustrate the concepts. Note: This book does not focus on abstract programming tools such as TI's driverlib or Energia. Rather it focuses directly programming the registers which is the way to go if you want to apply the concepts to other microcontrollers say from NXP, Atmel, etc.

Do not buy the Kindle version.
The Kindle version of the book is not formatted properly. Page numbers are different from the physical version, so it is difficult to use if this is a required text for a class. Tables are also formatted very poorly and are very difficult to read.

Excellent reference.
I use it for teaching my undergraduate course in embedded systems. It is a very good start that puts the beginner student right on track. I am so grateful to the authors to produce not only this book and but the whole series as well.

A good start to Embedded Programming
I have a bachelors degree in electrical engineering and wanted to increase my knowledge about embedded programming. This book has very good examples and explains in an easy to follow way. The MSP432 and its 16-bit alternative the MSP430 are easy to use very good microcontrollers (and the Code Composer Studio is freeware and has no code size limit. Perfect ;) ).
