Perfect candy thermometer
Purchased for my daughter who was making Christmas candies. She said it worked well for her needs.

Not 100% accurate but pretty close.
Did not pass boil test 100% but got close enough for my purposes. It’s supposed to measure 100C at a rolling boil but did not hit 100. Also, when my digital thermometer, which is pretty accurate, measures 158F, this thermometer measures only 150. So, it’s not precise. That being said, I’m using these for a candle making class with kids which is not an exact science most of the time. I like how the thermometers hang off the edge of my pot with the clips. That’s nifty. Arrived super fast and was packed well. I want my students to measure temperature using analog measurements so these suit my purposes perfectly. I would buy these again.

Easy clip on thermometer
Best thermometers for use when frying. Helps to keep eye on temperature when frying eggrolls. Easy to clean and store. The clip works well and holds on well.

Disappointed
Not accurate. I calibrated it per the instructions when I got it. It was easy enough to do. Used it about 2-3 weeks later. Double checked the accuracy using boiling water, as the instructions suggested. It checked out correctly. Attached it to my sauce pan to make rosettes. It obviously could not read the temperature of the oil correctly. I usually fry rosettes at 275°-285°. The thermometer said ~315° but the oil was not that hot - judging by how the rosettes were frying. I could not trust the thermometer and finished my frying going by how my rosettes were cooking. When the thermometer fell off the pan, I didn't bother reattaching it. The dial is small and difficult to read precisely.

I used this once when i bought it a year ago. Reached for it recently and found it to be broken. The stem was completely snapped away from the body. It was in my kitchen drawer and obviously too fragile.

The ad shows it as coming in a box. Mine came loose in an Amazon envelope and no instructions. Arrow is not on zero but instead is on 22 degrees. No way to calibrate it. If you want your liquid to be 350 degrees I suppose you would have to wait until the arrow points to 372 degrees. Guess I'll have to forego the dollars spent on this and purchase a better one.
