What amp fan motor will this be compatible with?

You have to know the voltage to get amps. It is marked as 300 watts max, which is about 2.72 amps @ 110 volts. I am using it with a 50 watt motor, works fine

How long is the control shaft that knob attaches to?

Hi, the distance is .5” to the base. This includes the threaded fastening support ring. The knob is a slip-on.
