Dangerous but far worth buying!
Ive got to admit. This tool seems dangerous at first but once i used it for 20 or so minutes it was AWESOME. This tool saves so much time debarking trees for my wood working hobby. It does take a little bit of technique to get the right depth of cut on some logs, but i got 7, 5ft logs debarked in >20 minutes... compared to a hour plus using a draw knife. This tool does not leave a finished look on some logs, so i found out that using a draw knife on the log to finish it up is worth doing. WORTH BUYING!

No hard case
This is of course a great product, just be aware that this does not come with the standard hard case.

Two months into ownership and this thing is A BEAST !!!!LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT !!!!!!All the You Tube videos do not do it justice !Cleaning / debarking some heart pine reclaimed from a dock constructed in Savannah Ga, circa 1776.Did I mention that this thing is a BEAST ? !!This wood is beautiful when finish sanded with 36 Grit abrasives. My father - in - law purveys Hutcheson Plantation, specializing in reclaimed wood and old beam construction, trust me , we know what we are looking at and methods that provide results !

Well built!
My husbands a logger and he says this debarker is strong and well built! He uses this along with his sawmill and is very pleased with the job it does.

Great tool but installation instructions were weak
Great tool but installation instructions were weak. I took an old bar and drilled the holes through it to mount. Bar is hardened steel and was a pain in the but to drill through. This product would be better if they had an optional bar with pre-drilled holes. Once I got it going it worked great. BE CAREFUL! This is also a dangerous tool if you don't pay attention. Don't wear any clothes you care about. The tree bark sap will cover you!

Debarks logs easily.
Works very well debarking logs. As with any hand operated tool, it takes practice to get a smooth job when removing the bark. It certainly is much easier than using a draw knife for the job. Some draw knife work and sanding after using the Log Wizard helps smooth out the work to make it look nice.

Debarker tool
First of all the product is good.Do not mount on and any low profile bars..Only use this on a heavy duty saw....Other wise you will destroy your clutch sprocket..Id recommend saw size of at least 42cc or bigger......Also recommend cutterless chains to run it...The chain does have a tendency to ''walk'' off the bar under load. Also for heavy bark like Oak/Elm/Ash ect, it works but its extreme use to try it ...I truly think this unit is its best on pine or any thin skined bark only......We run a Sawmill opperation here and have tried this debarker on many different types of bark.....So bottom line on this debarker is its well worth the time to use it but remember its not a de dirt er.Clean ur logs prior to debarking

More than debarking
It will debark a log in a hurry. But that's not all. You can use it to sculpt wood, or make (or at least rough-in) joints for a Swedish cope. The surface looks machine planed, though, even if you go slow. If that's the look you're after, this tool may not be for you. Or you might have to follow with a draw knife. You have to modify (put holes in) the bar, and switching over takes enough of an effort that you probably want to dedicate a saw for this tool.Need replacement blades? It takes standard Makita 3" 1/4 planer blades.
