I just got the 4K model and installed it in my 2020 RAV4. I've installed electronics in other cars and motorcycles, and this was absurdly easy. The wiring was the thing. No need to run and hide wires all over the place, or tap into the fuse box or even to the battery. Pop off the cover, swap the clips, plug the plugs, and put the new cover on. It really is that simple. Frankly, for the price, I don't understand why you WOULDN'T have one of these. With all the nutballs on the road and on the streets now, a dash cam could be very useful especially if you end up in any sort of insurance or legal hassle. I bought the 4K version. I tested the various modes, and 4K gives you the widest field of view, along with 1080p (which makes sense). The other modes narrowed the field of view. In pixel-peeping the detail, I can say that the 4K recording definitely does show more detail, but the image is grittier and noisier than the 1080p footage. My guess is that the 1080p uses pixel binning, which lowers noise, and perhaps the 4K codec is lower bandwidth relative to the pixels being stored, so maybe there's more compression being applied (relatively). The 1080p looks good, is less noisy, maintains the same wide field of view, and takes up less space (for faster file transfers and more recording time on the card). The 4K definitely provides some more detail though; I believe this is a genuine 4K camera and not some form of upscaling. Note: my evaluation was based on static shots in my garage. The definitive test would be a drive through some woods and grass, to see how the video compression holds up. Regarding getting the camera to "stick" in 4K: it's true that the system doesn't "remember" the 4K setting as delivered. However, there's a very simple fix: set it to 4K using the Roadcam app, and then press and hold the power button on the camera for about 5 seconds. After that, the 4K setting will stick.

No wiring! it's plug and play! The Bad: The app is pretty terrible and does not seem to be made specifically for this dashcam. It does let you configure the camera settings, but it does not let you access any of the recordings or pictures from the camera. It looks liek you have not recorded anything from the app. You will need to pull the SD card to get the video clips or stills. *** 10/17 edit *** The new Fixcamx App works liek you'd expect a dashcam app to. It resolved all of my previous concerns about the app being used with this Dashcam. I also strongly reccomend a 128GB SD as the 4k recordings use a LOT of storage quickly! On a road trip 64GB is good for about 4-5 hours. ******************** There is no parking protection since this powersoff with the car. There is no integration to the factory digital rear view. It didn't say it did but it SURE would have been nice! The only other problem I had, and it might be because of the digital rear-view mirror, but the small door included in the kit did not fit. Luckily the orginal door from the cover you remove to install the camera one does fit. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase, but it could be better!

Bought for my 2021 RAV4 prime. Installed easily on my own with the help of the instructional video link provided. Installed the app on my Android phone and it worked right away without any issues. I've been using it for well over a month and have saved a few clips to my phone. Video quality is sharp, I keep audio off. Good value for the price.

The product came in well packaged, no worries of it coming in damaged the delivery person would have to stomp on the box if they want to cause any damage. The product was easy to install you have to make sure you follow the video they provide with the scan in link. The dash cam footage is fantastic it gets a good range and it’s wide also. The customer service is helpful as well not that I needed them but they reached out before the item shipped to make sure I picked the right dash cam by asking for the make and model and year of the vehicle. Also provided important key notes which were helpful. I would highly recommend this dash cam if you have a RAV4. The app works great also. UPDATE: the dashcam stopped working it couldn’t read the memory card so I bought a new card and the same issue I reached out to customer service they said that is rare for that to happened and they are going to replace the dash cam. Still waiting for the new one hoping this mistake doesn’t happen again. I will keep you all posted. UPDATE: I received the replacement and after two days of use it stopped working. It just glitches and cuts off from the live feed. I’m very disappointed and dissatisfied with this product. I would not recommend.

For my 2019 RAV4, perfect fit and cosmetically wonderful. Easy setup and installation. I hope this company expands their features. Right now, it offers great picture and date/time stamp. I look forward for this company to add GPS for speed and location. A lot of potential. You'll need to add the lens filter for the glare, where honestly it should be part of the unit instead of an add-on. Without it, you'll see side glare from the sun and night glare on the license plates.

Likes: good video quality, install was pretty easy, looks great once fully installed. No wires tioroute. Dislikes: The app could be better as far as privacy goes. Once i set the camera up how I like it, i deleted the app and will pull files from the sd card if i need. Also, the clips you have to move from the stock cover to the dash cam cover were slightly too long and did not fit the factory clips. Customer support did not offer a replacement, but advised me to use an Xacto knife to carve away at the plastic a little until the clips fit, which i did, and it worked. However it should have been the right size already. If i’d broken the tab i might have been stuck with a useless unit, so be careful during installation. I will say though that the customer service response was very fast and their advice did work. I havent had any issues since installing it.

I the steadiness of it. No need to open fuse or anything like. I install the rear with out any screwdrivers just my hand and the tool they gave. Would have loved it even more if it had parking incident record and GPS. But does not. Camera quality is pretty ok. Only the sun or light glare can be a pain I know they have technology to reduce those if they had it to new models that would great. When pay attention to the connector so the little wires inside goes in to correct t holes. I would reccommend buying one based on its performance so far I have no major complains. Will up date review as I go along or if any problems occur. Their customer service works but only via wats text I was able to reach them. One more things is of they could make a 3 channel one that works for uber drivers with in cabin recording would be great. Good news i got the replacement camera from them which was shipped from somewhere in ontario and this one works. I still think for the quality camera it's not worth the amount of money they charged. I also think the camera shipped directly from China are not good only the ones they have over here already is good. Hence my replacement. Money is not worth it but camera works now. Only the oem style set up make it really good as I did not have to damage any part of my car or used any screw drivers to install them. Only my hand and the tool in the box.

I bought this dashcam for it’s OEM look. At first I was hesitant thinking the quality of the video will be like another knock off brand of dashcam claiming 4k video resolution, but to my surprise the video is of excellent quality. Customer service is second to none, they even give me a free hard wire kit so I could utilize the dashcams parking mode. I’ve installed the rear cam inside just above the rear view mirror just so it can capture a 360 view of the vehicle. Overall it was a great experience having this purchase over the other brands which are very expensive and awful installation looks compared to OEM ones like Fitcamx.
