We bought these to observe the eclipse this Summer. We tried them on the Sun today and they worked fine. We will pass them out to anyone who needs them. Get some now before they are sold out. They are well priced and effective.

Saw a solar eclipse didn't go blind.
They worked just fine. They're not too durable, but they never were meant to be. This is not to say any of them were damaged. The foil-like screens/lenses were thick enough to survive normal handling, which is important when staring at the sun.

Yes, these will do just fine.
Yes, they are cardboard but fit generically just fine. Actually, pretty Buck Rogers space-cool graphic design. Lenses are definitely total black-out and you will see nothing through them except a clean, clear look art the sun when you view it directly which I have. Having not yet seen the eclipse I can, however, expect a clear and stero-view image as you would see from looking at an object normally with both eyes. I'm satisfied the "glasses" will provide a safe look at the eclipse. They will allow you to literally look at the sun itself with your natural stero-vision and focus, not just a reflective shadow of the event, There are warnings on printed on the glasses that are reasonable and I would follow them but they do allow you to view up to 3 minutes which is all you want to do and to not use them if broken or torn (duh). Have fun. Wishing you clear skies to cross one item off your bucket list. You'll be the envy of any unprepared fellow viewer and you could sell them at the event and make some money if so inclined.I know you won't attempt to rip them off or the mothership will be angry.

Not Confident of Safety Claims
I ordered these to view the recent Transit of Venus. After 3 viewings of about 30-45 seconds each, I saw spots before my eyes. I have cataracts that require surgery, so the lenses of my eyes are NOT even sensitive. As a result, I am not confident these glasses protect the eyes to the level they claim.I would NOT recommend them. Your vision is too important. Do not take a chsnce with these glasses.

Safe Solar Viewing Glasses But Poor Quality Optics
The sun in these glasses is blurred. Solar viewing glasses made from Polymer material yield a much clearer image. I learned this because I was give the better viewing glasses during an eclipse and the image improvement was clear (pun intended).

Fingers Crossed I Still Have My Vision
Bought these for the 2017 solar eclipse in August. Good price. Hopefully my eyes don't melt. Will report back after the eclipse. Unless my eyes did in fact melt. Then I will be unable to do so.

Best price, more solid hold. Could have Comfort edging on contact surfaces.
Best price of all I've purchased in advance for the August eclipse. They are comfortable and more solid hold over the ears. They meet all the recommended safety standards. I wish someone would put a cheap rubber strip around the nose and ear contact points. Nothing fancy since it's usually used one time.
