A good one!
There’s a new girl at Webster Grove. Her name was A-B-C-D-E-F (“Step” for short)—an unusual name. She was a shy, lovely, smart artist, who had a crush on her popular and respected English teacher, Mr. Rivera. Her mother has been running from her abusive father all her life, hence, the constant moving from place to place. But with Mr. Rivera around, this place may not be all that bad. What I couldn’t stand about Steph’s mother was how flighty and childish she was. When would she quit picking out these “internet buddies” and settle down into a place? She also couldn’t see all the beauty in Steph. Even with the bun and gaudy glasses, Steph was beautiful. Too bad her mom couldn’t see that, too. But Mr. Rivera did. “Call me Alex,” he told her. He comforted her and listened to her like no one else. There was something going on there. Something was going to happen, I predicted. I was actually looking forward to a steamy affair between them (even though that would've been gross and extremely inappropriate); but I guess everything happens (or doesn't happen) for a reason. I honestly felt the ending was a tad anti-climactic and coincidental.I loved Steph! She had the shy sarcasm going on! She was a likable character that I may follow in the Webster Grove series. I’d like to see if Mr. Rivera comes back.

Okay
This was a short story. It was nice. Some things are open for further exploration which I think may be done in subsequent books. I liked the main character but her name was absolutely ridiculous. I really did not like the mean girls. I am not sure if I like the main character enough to continue but, let's see.

Great YA read!
First off, it should be stated that this is a series, a five part one to be exact. It seems that a lot of people when they pick it up don't quite realize that, so the ending, surprises them. Don't be one of those people. Go in knowing so it doesn't disappoint you.Secondly, this is a teacher student YA adult love story. It's actually the first time I've experienced that type of book and strangely enough, I wasn't put off by it.This was a light, breezy read, nothing overly dramatic and it was even comedic at parts which made me like it even more.I'm glad there's more to the story because I think there's a lot more that can be shown where the characters are concerned. That's the only real issue I had with the story as a whole was that I missing a connection. Something that would indefinitely tie me to them. I'm hoping to find that in the future books.I would definitely recommend this book for any romance fan, but definitely for fans of sweet YA. It will be right up your alley.Great read, can't wait to get started on the others in the series.

More like 3.5 stars
This was a quick read and pretty well-written. I loved how the author broke each part of the heroine's life into a section making it a five part series, which in the end, constitutes one whole book. I usually enjoy the YA genre so I thought I'd try this one since it was short and looked cute. The story line was sweet, if not a wee bit far-fetched. But the concept was realistic. How many gals have had crushes on their young high school teachers? I still remember how handsome Mr. MacDonald was. He looked amazing even 20 years later. Anyway...I loved the characterization best. It seemed pretty genuine because one could see how moving so often would rattle a girl and make it difficult to feel like she belonged anywhere. Steph's mom was a truly flighty character, and ironically, I had a friend whose mother was exactly like that back in the day. So the way Steph's mom was portrayed made me smile. I loved the tension in the story, but I also appreciated how the author didn't cross any potentially offensive boundaries. The ending had a great twist and it made me smile. I will probably read the next installment in the series because of the clever ending.

I hate cliff hangers
Fun read. Was expecting more. I felt like I was promised a sexy, wrong affair between teacher and student but all we got was so pretty placed characters, no character development and passable side kicks. Not interested in getting the next book. 3.5 stars but we'll round up to 4 because I was entertained with the witty dialogue. Who doesn't love a sarcastic, lonely, girl?

Cute Story
This book is a cute story. I liked it a lot. I would recommend this book to 10+. Under ages wouldn't understand this book. I chose this rating because it was a good book, and was interesting. This book is about a girl who moved amid, and goes to a school that she's had to stay at forever. She meets this teacher, who she falls in love with. Of course every book needs an enemy, and the enemy is a math teacher who likes the other teacher. The math teacher also hated the girl. Still this book is a short and small cute book, but it has more.

Not deep enough
From my own experience of having a hot and sexy teacher that everybody adored.... I dont think the characters were very deep and the plot didnt seem believable. I think her teacher would have been more stuck on himself to become that intrigued by a student. It should have focused more on her relationship with her mother and trying to live her dream as a costume designer instead of wasting her time with another teacher.... Trust me I made that same mistake and paid for it. Good entertainment but shouldnt feed the fantasy....

Fun and Flirty
The cover is deceiving - this is not a light fluffy lemon soufflé of a romance with lots of sex. It is a fantastic little YA read which will cheer you right up if you're feeling down. And best of all it's free. So go read it!I'll admit, I did frown when I read Abcdef Ghijk as a name... And I'm still not sold on the bat-shit mother. But Steph ('cdef, how clever) is a pretty awesome character in this surprisingly excellent little read.Although this is a pretty tame YA, it's filled with tension and conflict and friendships and the THAT'S NOT FAIR feeling you should experience at least once from this kind of YA. Fan of school drama? You'll be a fan of this. The only bad thing is that now I think I'm hooked, and I'm going to have to buy the rest to see where this goes!

I admit to thinking that it was probably going to be some tooty fruity love story with nothing really good coming out of it
Let me just start by saying: do not be mislead by the cover. When I found this, I admit to thinking that it was probably going to be some tooty fruity love story with nothing really good coming out of it. I feel bad for that immediate judgment because, to be honest, I absolutely adored these short stories. It's a brilliant start to an ever improving YA series - one that I highly recommend that you pick up and try. It's an excellent book to pick up if you need a cheer up, a pick me up, are wanting something light and quick... This book hits all of the right spots and damn, it hits them well!I love how unique this is - from the main characters name to the romantic storyline; it's something refreshing and something so utterly adorable that I couldn't stop myself from reading on! It has a perfect mixture of drama, angst, fluff, cuteness and meltingly soppy romance! This mixture makes for something that I believe to be an excellent YA novel; one that does what a YA novel should! It's also refreshing to see the romance being focused on opposed to the sex; it's a nice change and it's as refreshing as an ice cold lemonade on a summers day. It's pleasing to see and I think that Tracie Puckett has done outstandingly well to write it in the way that she has - she's written a lovable main character (who I didn't once roll my eyes at; I sympathised entirely), a drop dead gorgeous male lead (who I absolutely adored), and she's got a storyline that's fast paced, keeps the reader on their toes and keeps one interested. She's written a well rounded short story here and I can't wait to see where this story goes!If you're a fan of YA, romance or both of them together; then I would definitely recommend that you pick this up! It's definitely worth a try - I think it could be far more popular than it is because it's such a light, fluffy, easy and thoroughly enjoyable read.So much love goes to this series, love love love!
