Loved it. Heartbreaking.
I’ve been let out on to public transport for the first time in almost a year.So I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to finish this book.I was wrong. Sort of.Good job the train’s empty and no-one got to see me cry.Fantastic story that has me both wanting to read and read. Yet never want it to end.Just brilliant.

Heartbreakingly beautiful story.
A really beautiful but tragic story against a backdrop of Italy towards the end of WW2, a snapshot of the real life challenges from two different but equally difficult perspectives. Very easy to read but perhaps could have gone into even more depth. Loved the humanity aspect.

Heartened by this book
I loved this book. I’d been reading thrillers recently and was just feeling a bit jaded by all the violent characters and negative stories.Pippo and Clara is by no means all sweetness and light. It is set in Italy during the WW2, a very difficult time for so many people. And the author doesn’t shy away from the horrors of war.But what I loved and what lifted my spirits were the characters of Pippo and Clara and many of those who helped them along the way.It is a book with heart. And I found myself – as one does after being engrossed in a really good book – thinking of the two protagonists and the twists and turns of their lives long after I’d actually finished the book.

This is such a beautiful story that will stay with me. To see a different side to war was so refreshing and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves this genre of books

Good story, very informative.
I enjoyed the book but was quite disappointed when I realised how much I was charged for it. I downloaded the free sample which said the book would be costing 99p. But after I finished the sample and clicked to download the actual book was charged £4.99. If the book increases in price during that period I think I should have been in formed, so that I had the choice to purchase or not.

Storytelling at its best
History as told through one of Diana Rosie's stories is layered, filled with humanity, told with tenderness and, ultimately, affecting. Highly recommended.
