Appion MGABAS Mega Flow Basics 1/2" Hose Evacuation Kit, Silver, Gold, Black

Worked as described, achieved 190 microns in seven minutes using a en-expensive Zeny Vacuum pump. This was on a new mini split DIY install where the lines needed to be vacuumed down and leak checked. Vacuum held at 190 microns for twenty minutes after pump shut off. Did a lot of on line research before doing this all went well and mini split is working fine. I'm sure a professional HVAC tech would have added some other procedures to check for leaks and operating pressures but I decided to purchase good equipment and try myself since I plan on doing another mini split install.

All the guys at work leave their valve cores in the service valves and use their sman’s to pull a vacuum which takes forever. I read a few articles suggesting using three Appion core removal tools, a micron gauge, and hooking directly to the vacuum pump. I already had two of them since I generally prefer to run wireless probes and temp clamps. So I figured I’d pull the trigger on this vacuum hose with the Appion core removal tool so I had three of them. I’ve used it a few times now and it’s night and day different. I’m pulling deep vacuums in lighting times compared to the old way. Today I was able to do a double evacuation with a nitrogen sweep between them in less than 30 minutes on a system replacement with the old lineset (I left it under vacuum isolated over a 45 minute lunch to check the decay and it held tight at 466 microns the whole time). Being able to pull down under 500 microns in just a few minutes compared to 30 minutes or longer is incredible. The time saved allows me to do a proper decay test/double or triple evacuation and ensure that my linesets are really devoid of moisture. I can’t go back. 100% if you're an hvac service guy or installer, you need to get this

Just learning the A/C game so not a lot of Knowledge. Got this hose with a 7.3 vacuum pump and pulled 5 ton down to 380 microns in 4 minutes. Turned the pump on and walked in the house to get my CPS meter, came out and pump sounded strained. Threw the meter on and it was already under 410 microns. when I installed this unit in March with standard lines and a 3 CFM pump it literally took me over 18 hours to pull 450 Microns. A/C tech prior to this Hose really need to be honored for their service, must have been a battle doing that every day...
