I bought this jewelery tester so I can tell what is real and what is not from my own personal jewelery collection. Over the years I have bought a number of diamond stud earrings, and got some from a family member. Even I could no longer tell what was cubic zircon and what was real. Right out of the box, put batteries in, charged it up and put it to work on items I knew were real. It was accurate each time I ran the test. Even tested some costume jewelry, the device was not easily fooled! So far, I have to say I am pleased with this purchase, and hope it continues to do it's job! Although somewhat pricey, sometimes you get what you pay for! It's a little chunky, and you have to learn how to hold it precisely to get accurate results from testing. Keep that in mind.

As a professional jeweler that specializes in high end custom pieces, I hate to say that this tester is absolutely not accurate at all nor is it the easiest to use. For $100 I expected better. Smaller real authentic diamonds sometimes test as moissanite and larger moissanites often test as authentic diamonds. Moissanite will sometimes always read as Diamond on other testers, especially if it’s good moissanite but diamonds should never read as moissanite. In addition the prong can be weird to work with sometimes and no different prongs means if it doesn’t work for the piece you’re trying to test that you’re stuck with it. It would’ve been nice to see a few different prongs for properly working with different gem sizes. All and all, this is no different from the $20 tester you can get on here.

Seems to work, I tested items that I knew. Definitely pays when you don’t buy the cheapest!

Works real well been using it for months its pretty consistent, I go back and test other stones every so often, it also is comparable to another tester I bought here on amazon and is reading the same results the other tester I have cost $200.00 and its the same findings.

This thing is so insanely inaccurate it blows my mind. I’ve tricked it over 10 times into reading my moissanite bracelets as diamonds and it gives different results every single time. I almost feel like it’s just a randomized beeping led. The only thing it’s good for is telling moissanite / diamonds from softer stones but there’s a $20 version of that available. I will be returning this piece of crap and getting a proper one

This dual diamond/moissanite tester is very accurate. I have found that most dual testers under $200 will not accurately and consistently test moissanite stones under .25ct. they will test them as diamonds. I have tested dozens of small moissanite stones as small as 10 points, and all tested as moissanite. The only negative I have about the tester is the half minute wait for it to warm up, batteries don't last long. You really need to use an AC adapter (not included).

Bonjour à tous, Cet appareil est conforme aux dires, je l'ai testé sur des diamants HRD et IGI ainsi que des moissanites des zircon des Saphirs blancs et autres CZ et YAG. Le testeur s'en est sorti a chaque fois sauf une erreur sur un diamant noir naturel testé comme moissanite une fois puis reconnu comme diamant ensuite ce qui est logique puisque le diamant noir est un peu à part n'ayant pas toutes les mêmes caractéristiques du diamant naturel incolore et d'ailleurs peu connu à l'état naturel on le trouve plus souvent en pierre synthétique. Je ne regrette pas cet achat qui est beaucoup plus précis que les petits testeurs habituels à 20/40 euros. Les instructions sont simples à suivre et cet appareil est facile à transporter sur le terrain ou les brocantes où l'on trouve des bijoux anciens avec souvent des pierres synthétiques voir fausses. Cet appareil vous évite d'avoir une valise avec le matériel de test. Attention cet appareil n'est pas fait pour reconnaitre les pierres de couleur (rubis, émeraudes, tanzanites, saphirs, etc...). Ce n'est pas non plus un appareil qui remplacera l’œil averti du gemmologue en laboratoire mais cet appareil vous donne une approche plus sure pour un achat.
