In my view this shouldn't be advertised as "universal". I have 3 Eureka /Sanitaire uprights and it didn't fit any of them. Just a hair too long for any of them...even if "forced" into place...would not rotate. I returned it.

If it has the 12 inch cleaning path, it will work. If needed, you can take the end caps off of your old brushroll, and put them on the new one. I have both a 30+ year old Sanitaire and one that is just a few years old. They both have the same brushroll. I just pop the ends off the older one so a new brushroll would fit, as it was a slide in shape, not a hex shape.
