Perfect fit for 2014 Ford Edge
Purchased this so that I could continue to use my hitch mount bike rack or cargo tray after selling my pickup truck. Online instructions on computer screen very helpful compared to the b/w sheet that came with it. Purchased the necessary odd size drill bit which arrived prior to the hitch. While one person can manage the install, a second pair of hands would have been helpful. My install took 4 hours including prep such as having all tools, computer, repeated viewing of instructions online, and parts laid out. Numerous breaks since I don’t work on my back under a vehicle as well as I used to.Tips: watch a YouTube video about removing the exhaust hangers. WD40 and channel locks are quite useful. Also safety glasses since you will have debris from under vehicle fall on your face.Getting bolts through the frame to the holes is not easy but not overly difficult. Only problem I had was putting one in the wrong hole because I wasn’t paying attention and then trying to get it rerouted. Also temporarily got a finger stuck past the knuckle but managed to get it back out before it swelled. (Imagine having to make that 911 call)Drilling the last two holes was a piece of cake.Final install looks great.Another note: be prepared for an arbitrary change in the necessary sockets. Ford workers apparently use whatever size is available on the assembly line at the time they put a vehicle together. Recommended socket was correct for 5 of the 6 bolts when lowering the exhaust. Also made my own exhaust support with cardboard box and scrap 2x8

Intuitive install cables for bolts
Fits like it should. Found pliers helps to start mufler hangers off. Put one jaw on post and other on backside of hanger. I bought the J hook pin, but didn't want.to wait for it to show so I used the clamp style I already had from another vehicle. Theres no way the J pin could keep the draw bar as tight as the clamp design can. This hitch was designed to use the J pin, but as an add on and not needed at all.The hitch is well thought out and just what I was hoping for. Saved hundreds of.dollars doing it myself. A local shop wanted five hundred to install a Reece brand hitch.

Great hitch, easy install
Some have complained about difficulties getting the bolts in but I had no problem, I just went slow and read the instructions. If I have one complaint it was the small print in the instructions, I am 65 and had squint to read but no biggie. It took mea little more than 2 hours to install by myself but I recently had a back fusion so someone in good shape can do it faster i am sure. I may notch the rear facia to allow better fit but it looks ok as is.

Good for your money
I am very satisfied with the overall quality of the hitch. The install was like any other install that you do for the 1st time. Take your time and all ends well. It's not hard but I guess if your not mechanically inclined take it to a professional if you like. Not sure what is the big deal about drilling a hole as long as you have a bolt attached should be no worries. Instructions were easy to understand. I did need help picking up the hitch to line up with the bolts, but other than that it was straight forward. If you don't want to drill any holes then look elsewhere. All and all very please.

Do NOT purchase a 17/32" drill bit.
When this item was delivered, the package was BEYOND destroyed and the paint was chipping off the hitch (see photo). For that reason, I deducted a star. The hitch itself was easy to install. Removed the heat shields, lowered the exhaust, installed 4 of the 6 bolts in existing holes. Now the instructions and other reviews advise to purchase an odd 17/32" drill bit, which I did in advance. Now the reason I say do not buy the bit is the 17/32" is EXACTLY enough width for the bolt. With such a tight fit, it makes it extremely difficult to place the bolt in the frame. I ended up (which I recommend doing) marking the two remaining holes. Then I removed the hitch (4 bolts) and used a 5/8" bit to drill a slightly larger hole. I then installed all 6 bolts without issue. The hitch turned out nice. It is very much concealed.

This hitch is awesome. I called around the local shops and they were charging almost $600 for a new hitch installed. I watched a few YouTube videos and purchased the odd drill bit ahead of time. It took a little longer than the instructions said but it was very straight forward and it went onto our Ford Edge very nicely.Do not try to do this entire install alone. The hitch is heavy duty and I don't think one person could pull it off. That said, my wife and I were able to do and saved about $400 in the process. If I ever need to do this again, I will not hesitate. Great product!

Nice product.
I wish my hitch was not bent when I received it. Took longer to install. We had to bend back in place where it would be straight again. Was not easy , had to use heat and big hammer. I should have sent it back, but I needed it that day. Thanks amazon coupons or some money back would be nice fory time. Looks like it was bent maybe in warehouse. Had to be forklift or dropped.i haven't heard back from anyone at all.no apologies,no coupons, discount or anything.thanks slot for nothing customer satisfaction is not guaranteed.

Need 2 people or a stand to get it started
Nice fit just cut off the front ends of the heat shield you don’t have to remove them.

Great final finish look.
The instructions provided are not the best. I decided to search for a video and found a great step by step one. Took about an hour with help of a friend. It would be kind of hard to do it on your own because the part is big and kind of heavy. Definitely a 2 man job. The end product look great.

Simple install for someone with limited mechanical experience.
Pretty simple installation. Hardest part is fishing the bolts into the frame. Looks good and hides well under the bumper.
