Hubby bought this for his 2007 Toyota Highlander. He is a man of few words, but said it installed easily. Looks good, works good. For him thatβs a 5-star review!

Great value, but almost too good.
Great value and love that the hatch now pops open easily and stays up. However, it is more difficult now to close the hatch as it takes quite a bit of strength. Unless you are a young and fit person ... you'll need to go to the gym to build more upper body strength in order to pull down the hatch easily.

Fit & easy install, but broke after 4 months
I have to give a 1 star rating because one of the supports broke after 4 months. The press fitting between lower ball on the bracket that bolts to the car frame corroded and separated one day when my wife was closing the door. The caused the failed support to slam against the car's painted surface and gouge the paint down to the metal. The other support shows corrosion in the same place, so this seems to be a problem with these supports, and/or poor quality of the press fitting of the ball onto the brackets.I will give the product credit on the fit and install. It fit perfectly, and the instructions were clear. Took less than a minute to install on each side. And they have enough pressure to easily open the very heavy hatch. Once they were installed, the hatch felt like it was brand new.I just wish the lasted longer, and didn't fail causing the body damage.

Just what I needed for my 2004 Highlander
Of course, it's too early to tell how long these will last, but they look pretty sturdy. It was easy-peasy to install - just remove four screw bolts on each side (two on top and two on bottom), replace the mechanism and re-install. The only problem I had was when I dropped a bolt into the driveway leaves. Some reviewers said they were too strong. I didn't find that the case, although the first couple of times I almost whacked myself in the chin when the liftgate opened. They work well and I can look forward to a cold winter with no more head knocks.

Perfect for '07 Highlander
Awesome product at a good price. Installation was a little tricky but that was probably mostly my problem as the old supports were not working. Hatch kept trying to fall down on me while I was trying to fight the expanding supports. Finally got one in and the other was much easier. Overall, a great product which solved an annoying problem.

Strong struts!
I installed these on our 2002 Highlander which was beginning to drop its hatch on us. After that, I put one of the old struts back on, because it was really pretty difficult to close the hatch with both of these installed. I could manage, but my wife gave it a big nope. With one of these and one old strut, the hatch opens eagerly and still requires a bit of work to get it past the initial part of the motion where the struts have the most leverage.Fitment was good, and install was straightforward, if a little difficult because I was holding a hatch open with my head the whole time.

They work great (03 Toyota Highlander)
Easy to install, good and stiff. My wife is short and it's a bit harder for her to close ππ

BOTH of them are BROKEN after four months!
Don't believe the great reviews! Great reviews are collected as soon as they are purchased! The struts definitely fit our 18-year-old vehicle. Husband had no problem installing. Seemed to be a vast improvement over the factory struts. Well, four months later, they both popped out of their bracket while getting groceries and we almost couldn't get the lift gate closed. Not a good thing! So, just don't buy these! They are a poor design. The ball from the strut will pop out of the socket in the little bracket they provide whenever it wants to! That is NOT a quality product. Sure, we were able to pop them back into place with A LOT of time spent in the parking lot and eventually brut force, this this should NEVER HAPPEN! We bought TWO of these and BOTH of them have the same problem. It is a design DEFECT! This was a waste of money for us.
