Yang-Style Tai Chi 24 Form DVD – NTSC

I liked that the video is broken into each form and clearly instructs on the movements breaking them into hands then feet. After that, it has you try both together. Following that she deals with breathing. It also has a full demo of the 24 forms from front and from back. I feel like this video has helped me a lot in getting the movements correct. The music is nice and helps to slow me down so I am not rushing through the movements. Always see something new that I either wasn't doing right or was holding my arms too high or wide. Recommend this video to anyone. The ones I've pulled up on You Tube all seem to have minor variations but I like the way Master Amin Wu moves and does the forms.

If you want to learn the 24 form. This is the DVD to get. Hands down! I have practiced Tai Chi for almost 20 years and I have learned various forms and wanted to learn the 24 to add to my practice. Master Amin Wu did an amazing job with this DVD. I have Master Shou Yu Liang's DVD and his daughter Helen Liang's DVD. Both of them are very good DVDs, however Master Wu's DVD is superior because she takes you through lessons of each part of the form. It is like having a private lesson with a very good Tai Chi Master. She has 12 lessons on the DVD where she covers 2 forms for each lesson and goes through each one in a detailed fashion covering the front view, the back view, hands and stepping as well as breathing. She speaks of the martial applications but does not show them. Get Master Liang's if you want that, he shows a lot of that. Helen Liang also shows some, but not as much as her father's. Helen's 24 is a bit better than her father's however since he is primarily a Baquazhang guy. I only wish Master Wu did the same type of DVD for the 48 form. Helen Liang and Shou Yu Liang offer the 48, but I wish Amin Wu would do that in this format because her DVD is the best I have seen.

I wanted to learn how to do the 24 yang style forms but this dvd doen't teach it. It's merely for someone who is already been taught and needs a refresher course by just watching the moves. The front cover is very misleading. Fortunately, she is a very good teacher and has explained on the dvd to purchase the fundamental basics but that was after I bought this one. For 1 disc that doesn't teach the course, it's a bit pricey. Overal, I know I will need this after I learn the forms from the othere dvd, but her cover needs to be worded differently. It is annoying to buy this and find out you have the wrong one.

Arrived 2018-06-29. Out of the plastic wrapped case this DVD has several small scratches (thus the 4 instead of 5 stars). So far I've come across one short black video dropout which may or may not be caused by the scratches. I'll have to go through the whole 3 hours to see if any other video disturbances occur.Content wise, the video is excellent and I highly recommend it for learning the Simplified 24 Movement Yang Taiji.

I use two DVDs to teach myself Tai Chi. I have a neurological problem that affects my balance making mostly impossible to join a class. I use two DVDs this one and Dr Paul Lam. In this DVD, Amin Wu does a great job in teaching 24 form and the finer points of the forms in 24 form Tai Chi. She teaches two forms in one chapter in many cases. It would be better if there was a chapter for each form. Still, she is a great teacher. He English is good.

Very well done video. Detailed instruction; multiple camera angles; movements, breathing patterns etc in detail. You can learn this form from this video and learn how to do it properly.

I've been doing tai chi for 7 years and this is a great video for beginners and more advanced students who want to perfect their form. Amin Wu has beautiful technique and breaks the 24 form down into manageable sections. She focuses on not just what the moves are, but also the finer details. I learn something new every time I watch this.
