Q: Can this be used in a regular bath tub?

Hey Ben this is designed to be used in a sink only :).

Q: What size baby does this go up to? We are traveling in Dec and my daughter will be almost 8 months old. She is long in length though.

I think she will fit in the bath just note it is vrey flemsy. Im unsure how the baby in the picture is leaning back comfertably with out falling back. I had to hold my baby up the whole time.
