Q: How cold can this jacket withstand?

This jacket is one of the warmest I've ever owned -- if not THE warmest. Living in Upstate NY, this jacket's seen its fair share of cold weather and every time, I'm warm and dry when I get back inside. This jacket is worth much more than its price.

Q: My boyfriend is 5'11-6ft and about 160lbs. Would a large fit him?

Probably not. I'm 6'3" 170lbs. I have the XXL and I wish the sleeves were just an inch or two longer. It's a little baggy in the chest but not by much. I'm guessing he would need XXL or XL for the length

Q: is this jacket warm enough to climb kilimanjaro for 6 days? The temperatures get to around -20 F. I will have 3 layers underneath it? thx

Try the 686 GLCR ADVANCE THERMAGRAPH JACKET. You still need a fleece layer under it. Can also go with UA Base 4.0 or Base 5.0 long sleeve tops. Those are super warm. Made for sitting in a tree all day in the cold. You start moving, and it's like a fire in your jacket. You still need a good jacket to block the wind and rain. 686 makes good stuff. You are not going to get -20 gear for under $175.
