ODI Elite Flow Grips

Bought this to replace the original Giant grips that came in my Giant Trance X4 (2011), due to Covid19 I havent properly tested but so far seems that will resist some use and abuse, Odi offers this in various colors options I was going to get the white ones but where out of stock the grey version looks nice in a white bike setup.Edit 01/Oct/2022, this have been great, love the fit, the looks and most important how they perform.The locking mechanism (one side) works as intended and should be fine for a Trail bike maybe for some Enduro if you are a more hardcore rider or a DH rider I will think you be better off looking for some double lock grips, also be carefull if you use a Carbon handlebar (no my case) the torx screew used is a 3 mm (if my memory do not trick me) basically is a standard size that you can find in most portable bike tools (usefull in case of an adjust on the road).Also something nice is that the cushion (thickness) of the grip is non regular so in parts needed is a little more fat plus you have the waffle design that stick out and depending on how you grab to your bike you can twist and adjust the grip to fit your needs (gradients are marked in the outside part of the grips).I will update the review if something else worth it (or things go south).I didnt weight the grips but seems a little lighter that the original Giant ones.

These are hands down my favorite grip so far. I've tried quite a few over the years and these have the grip and feel that I prefer. These are hard grips which some might not like but I really appreciate. There is no "squish" as in some grips which means when I bear down and grip them on a descent there is no movement (like with the PNW Loam grips I've tried). The texture is ultra grippy with gloves and the finger texture does help with engagement and grip.I don't think I've ever needed more than an single inner lock to keep my grips on and I've ridden some rowdy trails. I've found these last about half a season, or ~1,500 miles before the texture if fairly worn and I have to replace them. I think that would likely be true of most grips though so I don't think this is a con.I continue to try other grips from time to time but keep on coming back to these as my preferred grip. I would definitely recommend!

Love the soft and tacky-feeling material on these. Definitely comfortable with or without gloves. Love the gray color as well on my gray Salsa Timberjack. The knurled design on top and the ridged pattern for your fingers is a great combination. My only qualm is that that ODI uses the same lock ring for both the right and left-hand side. So on the left, the bolt faces the rider, and on the right, it faces the front of the bike. Accessing the lock-on bolt on the right hand side required loosening and moving the brake and the shifter in my case, which is not a huge deal but still a hassle that could’ve been easily avoided. For the money, each side should be set up so you access the bolt from the rider’s side, so I took off 1 star. Other than that, the feel and quality of these is outstanding.

I Have tried 5 popular Grips. One better than the other, but this Odis, are superior..

I race bmx and grips are extremely important in the heat of the race your holding on to the bars for dear life especially if you ride hard and I've never had any problem and I love these grips
