A great watch
This movie is like Marmite- you’ll love it or you’ll hate it. Whilst it’s not as intense as the first one it’ll still have you on edge waiting to see what’ll happen next. And while it’s predictable at times it’s still enjoyable. With a brilliant use of 80s hits I have to a donut I liked this one more then the first one. It’s not a direct continuation so you don’t have to have seen the first one to understand it. Definitely worth the watch it you’re looking for something to put on, and/or if you enjoyed the first one.

Is Tamara there...
Having watched the first issue of 'the strangers' and thoroughly enjoyed it we opted to seek out and watch the follow up: Prey at night. Despite, the obvious similarities in the storyline the second outing is a lot less effective than the first. in fact, it is watching the first outing just set in a trailer park. I'm aware they are both set loosely on true events, although that added nothing to the scene for me. Not the worst but far from the first one.

Great slasher flick
Not sure why the hate for this; it never tries to be anything other than a slasher movie and while I enjoyed the first film with Liv Tyler, that was more a suspense thriller whereas this has more action. It also has one BRILLIANT jump scare. The first act is admittedly rather weak, with a cliched unhappy family with a troubled daughter (Bailee Madison) on their way to a vacation spot. Little do they know said location has already been visited by the strangers, who then set about stalking and killing the new arrivals. Once the killing starts, things pick up and there are some well crafted John Carpenter-esque sequences. Joannes Roberts has the sense to use less rather than more, often lingering on the unspeaking strangers, before delivering some gory action. It's a derivative film but genre flicks like these, when done with clear passion for the material, can be a lot of fun. I also loved the use of 80s pop songs whenever the strangers attack, plus the nods to classic horrors like The Fog and Christine. Characterisation is a weak point, then, and Hendricks could have been used more, but for a friday night slasher movie you could do far worse.

The Strangers : Prey at Night
This is the type of film you will either love or not - no in between. Personally, I love this film, it keeps you guessing all the way to the last second, it also has a great soundtrack of hit songs from the 80s. Would I recommend buying it? - you bet!

Excellent belated sequel
I love the original Strangers movie and when this sequel took ten years to make it the screen I didn't expect much from it. However I love this movie. It's more of a traditional "slasher" film than the first but it has lots of suspense, an amazing soundtrack, a couple of truly disturbing kills and characters you genuinely care about. An excellent modern horror film with a great retro feel.

Strangers prey @ night
Great follow up very different from the OG. More of a fun 80’s slasher. And in the extras section there’s the unrated version of the film.
