Feekoon Cold Weather Thermostatically Controlled Outlet On at 32-Degrees to 50-Degrees for Pond De-icers, Farm, RV (2)

I use these with heat tape on plumbing. These cut off power when temperature is high enough. I wish the shut-off temperature were lower, or I could adjust it ... it's higher than necessary for my usage.

Using this device to protect filters in well head from freezing. Well head is subterranean, maximum 4 feet deep with 4+inch concrete walls and floor. It as a metal cover with no insulation. I recently installed a descaler and the manufacture said to protect it from freezing. I bought this device to control a small electric heater just in case the temperature in the well head goes below freezing. The heater has a thermostat which will shut the heater off long before the temperature reached 50 degrees.Device is simple to install. As others noted it does cover up the other electrical outlet I plug the sump pump into. Solved that problem with a $3 orange 3 outlet adapter. I did test the device by placing it in the freezer. Two items worth noting. 1) The device is rated 10 Amps max current; marginal for heating a chicken house. 2) The fine print says temperature set points may vary up to 9 degrees from specification; therefore temperature might go well below 32 degrees. I think that is very sloppy.

They do come on when the temperature is at freezing I just wish they came on a degree or two before that. I use them for the greenhouse light when we had freezing temperatures, and they came on right at 32 and shut off on their own, I just wish it would come on a little bit before freezing temperature but they did what I bought them for.

At this time, the Amazon listing includes options for quantity 1, 2 and 4 items.I selected this product (qty 2) because I wanted a thermostat control with an LED for feedback.It doesn't light up. Neither of them do.Scrutinizing the Amazon listing more carefully, it seems like only the qty 4 listing includes the indicator lamp.Ugh. I wish I'd known these were different products and not merely different quantity. Both of them are clearly working right now, but they're attached to small submersible heaters, so I'll never know if they turn off when the weather warms up.

The low end set point is 32*F.I was hoping for 36*F on the low end and about 46*F on the high end.I have them setting on a shelf waiting for a project that can use the low end setting.They might work for another application, but I needed a higher low set point.I would not recommend these to protect plants from freezing.
