Its job is to be dead straight. One edge on the one i received looks straight but when compared with a know straight edge it is off causing frets to seem off when they are not. Ordered the stew Mac one.

This lil gadget arrived saying "Fret Roker" unlike the photo which has the correct "Rocker" spelling. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a bad quality knockoff, so I sent it to work with my spouse who is a metrologist (calibration engineer). He checked it for me, and sure enough it is super accurate. Woohoo!Works great. I've used it to double check new-to-me used instruments, to help with setups, and ti give measurements when selling off some old instruments. Pretty nice little tool that I lovingly call Fret Roker (perhaps related to Al).

Fairly accurate as far as I can measure, just one little thing annoys me, yes, it's a nit, but I'm picky and sometimes can't believe how some things get past quality control...and in this instance, only because it threw me for a bit....was looking for 1/8" on the conversion chart, but the chart went, in 64ths, from 7/64 to 3/8(?), to 9/64, obviously an oversight, I took a picture, but then I noticed the chart with the error is in the manufacturer- supplied images. I use 1/8" and other than making me think I was seeing things the first time, all good now.

I understand this is a cheap tool consider all the works they put in to make it. It is difficult for me to make out the measurements. Many people buying this toll end up using it just once or twice not everyday and willing to pay $15 for the rarely use piece that turns out to be useless due to the difficulty of making out what they are measuring is certainly not working out well.
