Great fit and classic Wrangler style
These jeans fit great and have that classic Wrangler cowboy cut look. The slim fit is comfortable without feeling tight, and they hold their shape well throughout the day. The denim feels durable and well made, perfect for everyday wear or dressing up with boots. Definitely a solid pair of jeans.

Best Jeans, Timeless Style
Not sure what to say, have worn the 0936 DEN Wranglers my entire life, I am happy ordering these through Amazon since they are priced right. Great Quality, Perfect fit. Don't get gouged by the box stores.

Comfortable and good fitting jrans
Great quality material and workmanship. I washed in warm water and dried on casual heat. The jeans didn't shrink. However from now on, I'll be washing with cold water. I would recommend these jeans.

First time Wrangler Buyer - So far, pretty good
This is a review for the Wrangler 936DEN (Cowboy-Cut Slim-Fit) Rigid (Unwashed) Jeans. Preference in jeans is such a personal matter, let me set the table with my perspective. First, this is the first pair of Wranglers I have ever owned. I don't think I even had a pair as a child. In recent years my go-to jeans have been the Levi's 501 Shrink-to-Fit in either Rigid Indigo or Rigid Black. I purchase those jeans in a size 34/34. Those can usually be purchased on Amazon for about $35. I also have a pair of the Made-in-USA 501 Shink-to-Fit Selvedge in size 33/34 (they are cut a little different in the seat and waist). The Selvedge model appears to only be available on Levi's web site. They appear to ONLY be available from Levi's web site. I purchased mine several months ago for $128 but they now appear to be over $150. Using the well-publicized method of soaking the 501's in very hot water, drip drying, towel drying, and then wearing the jeans damp for several hours, I am able to achieve a PERFECT fit. I like to turn up a small cuff of about 3/4 to 1 inch so I could purchase a length of 33 if I opted out of the cuff. (BTW - I DO NOT like my pants to hang off the back of my heals so my choice in length would be too short for those that like a "big break" with their hem.) Online research frequently turns up strong endorsements of the various versions of Wrangler "Cowboy Cut" Jeans (13mwz, 47mwz, 936den, etc.) and the passion that is often expressed for these garments brought me to drop $25 and give them a try. While there are some conflicting customer online comments regarding the fit of the various versions of the Cowboy Cut Jeans, I chose the 936DEN (Slim Fit Rigid). My hope was that the 936DEN style would get me closest to the 501 fit that I liked. There still is some occasional online misinformation regarding the denim that is used for the "Rigid" versions of the all of the Cowboy Cut Wranglers. I can attest with 100% certainty that they ARE NOT made of un-sanforized denim like the Levi's Shrink-to-fits. However, the Wranglers ARE NOT prewashed, and therefore WILL shrink noticeably, but not nearly as dramatically as un-sanforized Levi's. Regardless, knowing that I was going to get some degree of shrinkage with the Wrangler product, I opted to use the same soaking and drip drying routine I use for the Levis. (Soak in hot water in the bath tub, drip dry, blot dry with beach towels, and wear damp.) I'm wearing the Wranglers for my second day and the jeans HAVE contoured to my body the same way the Levi's do, but the cut of the jeans is noticeably different. Some of the differences I like more than others. The jeans have a higher rise and sit closer to my waist but they are not so high that they look like uncool "dad jeans". They fit very nice in the rear but they are CRAZY snug in the hips. They may stretch out a little in a few days but they are so snug it's VERY difficult to use ANY of the pockets. Speaking of pockets, as many online reviewers state, the Wrangler Cowboy cut models have back pockets that sit much higher than the Levis. This is actually nice if you keep a wallet in your back pocket because it keeps you from sitting uncomfortably on the wallet. Another pocket feature that I DISLIKE is the rubber Wrangler patch that is intended to resemble a leather patch. It doesn't look remotely like leather and it reminds me of "uncool" Sears tough-skin jeans. As suggested by another reviewer, I removed that rubber patch easily by snipping the threads with a pointy hobby knife. The absence of the rubber patch helps make the cool brass rivets on the back pockets visually "pop" more. This is an esthetic that is missing with my 501's and I fide it an appealing feature. The denim is very high quality. It certainly equals or exceeds the quality of the non-selvedge versions of the 501 shrink-to-fits. There ARE some examples of sloppy stitching, but nothing dramatically different from the 501's. I purchased the Wranglers on Amazon for $25 but I believe the jeans can periodically be found for even less. From a value perspective, the Wranglers are the better choice than the Levis 501 STF's. So far I'm pleased with the purchase BUT may opt for one of the less snug fitting versions of the Wrangler Cowboy Cut jeans.

Great jeans if you want a slimmer, tighter fit than the normal version
I've become a big fan of these jeans. I've always had Levis, but decided to try these 18 months ago to see how the classic Wrangler jeans looked with my cowboy boots. At that point I had about a dozen pairs of Levis - now, I'm down to two pairs of Levis and eleven pairs of these Wrangler 936 slim fit jeans. That's how much I like them! There's a lot of reviews here saying these jeans are tight, and they are (they're meant to be), but I think some reviewers are perhaps being a little optimistic with their sizing. I wear a 30" waist in Levis and have found that these Wranglers fit me snugly in a 31" waist size, and very snugly with a 30" waist size, but are still not at all uncomfortable. In fact I have both sizes, depending on the look I'm going for - the 31s fit perfectly through the hips and seat, snug but not tight. The 30s however fit me nice and tight in the same areas, as well as being much tighter through the thighs. Both are comfortable but I can feel the 30s pulling everything in as I zip them up, which should give an idea of how they fit. There is certainly no room for bulky underwear and perhaps that's the mistake some people are making with their designer boxers - I'm not an underwear fashion victim however and my "tighty whitey" briefs work absolutely fine with these jeans. The legs are quite trim but go perfectly over the tops of my cowboy boots, I never tuck them into my boots but they are skinny enough to do so if that's your look. The waist is fairly high and looks good with a tucked-in T-shirt and nice belt - I do think those who have a bit of a belly might feel this makes them feel too tight also, but being in my twenties and still managing to hold onto my flat stomach I can't really comment. I may change my mind in a couple of decades, but as it stands, I would agree with a previous reviewer's slightly blunt suggestion that these are really cut to provide a tight fit for boys rather than larger men - so whilst they fit my small frame very nicely, bigger guys looking for a comfier fit would be better off with the 13MWZ version. Quality and detail is nice, perhaps some of the stitching doesn't appear to be on a par with Levis (especially round the crotch) but I've yet to have a pair show any signs of failure. The various colours are nicely finished and (again, unlike some reviewers) I actually quite like the Wrangler patch on the back. Yes, it's plastic and not leather, but that kind-of goes with the simple and basic nature of these jeans. The seven belt loops even on the 30" size is a plus, although not strictly necessary on my small waist I'm sure it helps on the larger sizes. The two front belt loops are a little closer together than I'd like with some of my chunkier belts but it doesn't look out of place and, again, a larger waist will probably not suffer this issue. Other details like the extra rivets and bold "W"s on the pockets are distinctive. The material has a soft and tactile feel entirely missing from my recent Levis, although I should point out that the "rigid" indigo versions of these are made of a much stiffer material. Not unpleasant, just different. With eleven pairs, I have these in most of the available colours and my favourites are the Rough Stone and Charcoal Grey ones, although the bleach ones are a particularly cool colour too. In summary then, great jeans. I always used to find Wranglers a bit "cheesy" as a Levis-wearing kid, but now I wish I'd discovered these years ago. Far better for less money, what more could you want!

Timeless Fit and Functionality at a Afordable Price
The best value for performance of any major band I've tried, and a no-brainier compared to fast fashion. The various colors and shades can work with a variety of activities and looks. The vintage cut of these jeans is timeless and they’re designed to fit the human body (see size notes below) Testing Conditions: 6'2" and 175lbs. I tried the 0936 Slim Fit in Black Whiskey. Recently I was 80lbs heaver, so I previously tried other cuts in similar material. 3 weeks of wear, approximately every other day. 4x washes with front load HE washer, clear and free liquid detergent, regular cycle turned inside out. Worn in mixture of office and light to medium outdoor work/walking Pros: - The cotton isn't fancy but it's a different weave and much thicker than other jeans and will actually protect your legs - The fabric has good texture and is pleasant to touch. For those with tactile sensitivity, despite the pictures these do NOT have the "velvet texture" trigger at least for me - Length and pant leg opening is perfect for traditional Goodyear welted boots, cowboy boots and low cut shoes,(Tested with Ariat Rambler boots in 3x styles: Shaft of 13" boots were just visible underneath. soft sided 11" boots disappeared completely but the leg of jeans occasionally got stuck on the top and didn't slide down. Chelsea boots also performed well and almost never got stuck.) - Front pockets do not flare out. The pockets ride high but you can hold stuff more discretely - Back of the jeans are excellently cut and will make most backsides look good - So far they are not developing unsightly stress creases in the crotch area. There appears to be some natural break-in creasing but that’s it Cons: - The finish is not super colorfast. I accidentally bleached a spot on a different model using a stain remover. I am unsure if this is across all colors or only some - The area above the front pocket openings has some slight crumpling after wear - Fabric thickness becomes an issue with heat and humidity. If you are sweating enough to have to wipe your brow all day they will likely get uncomfortable - No cell phone pocket. An increasingly helpful modern design feature for most everyday people. However, this is a vintage design and the back pockets are robust enough you can put your cell phone in there without sagging the whole pant Other Observations: These sit at the “natural waist” between the navel and upper bone of the hips. They generally stay put and don’t need to be pulled up unless bending. Belt or suspenders largely eliminates the pants slipping down and a belt only needs to be cinched loosely There is almost no natural stretch in the waistband so try on with your other clothes. i.e. if your undershirt tucked in is tight, a button-up tucked in is going to be too tight The area around mid-hip feels alarmingly tight but stretches nicely upon wearing and contributes to a tailored silhouette Thank you for coming to my TED talk

Order a Bigger Size
These run small compared to other Wrangler jeans so keep that in mind when ordering. I’m a 34 waist and had to send a pair back and then got 36 and they’re still a little tight. All my other Wrangler 34 jeans fit as expected. These for whatever reason run small in comparison.
