I was very disappointed with this product. It made the pencil point really long, but it wasn't sharp. I even turned the knob in the back to get it as sharp as possible. The instructions said to use sandpaper to make the pencil sharp. But I thought the job of a pencil sharpener was to sharpen pencils, not make them round. I am very happy with this for sharpening my drawing pencils. I can get a really long leaded point, allowing plenty of lead for shading and using on its side rather than just the point. It's easy to switch between long and normal sharpening. The container holds a lot of shavings so doesn't have to be emptied every time. This is incredibly convenient!

So far this product is pretty good. Give a nice long, sharp point. I only have a couple issues. This is just me, but I'm not liking the fact I have to really push down to get it to work. Having bad arthritis makes this difficult some days. I also wish it could be a bit more compact. Don't know how I'm going to sharpen some of my shorter pencils.

The pencil sharpener works well with colored pencils, but each sharpening eats up so much pencil, that the life span of each pencil was half of using a manual sharpener. I ended up returning the sharpener for this reason, as colored pencils can be very expensive.

Great product! Does exactly what I wanted it to do (give my pencils fine artist points), rapidly, with very little effort! I hesitated a bit on buying this item, and looked at many other sharpeners by different companies, but decided on this one by AFMAT in the end. I'm *very* pleased with it's performance, and highly recommend it to anyone needing a pencil sharpener to make long artist points!
