Q: Reading reviews, what part of the trap trigger is now plastic?? Pics don't show any plastic, please advise!

I don't see any plastic in these traps; they work very well!

Q: Do you have to put food on these?

Yes, food is needed as an attractor. I use peanut butter, hard cheese or raw bacon and have good luck with all three. Place or tie bait on flat metal piece that connects with the spring. Watch your fingers. These are quick response traps.

Q: Size listed says 14.16 x 4.23 x 9.89" inches..is this size trap for rodents, or Much larger animals?

I did not buy the trap that measured: these figures. The rat traps that I buy are 7" long and 3.5" wide. They have worked very well for me over the past several years and the rat activity has finally almost petered out.

Q: I set 7 of these, baited with peanut butter. The rats took the peanut butter and not one trap snapped! What am I doing wrong?

1st--did you load the spring and set the bar over it so any movement sets off the trap? It's tricky to move at all without setting them off, that's why I fear and LOVE this make.2. Did you bend the hook to make it easier to set and maybe made it not fire anymore, I've done that when I feel finger-snap shy.3. Did you load the peanut butter pushing into the trap so it's not a ball but ONE with the tray--I use Laura Scutters Nutty?4. I also sprinkle a tiny bit of birdseed over the peanut butter and leave bits across the wood to lure them in--all done before I load the spring.Good luck!
