The item itself is fine as in build quality, not poorly welded. That as far as it goes, the rest the design is difficult to work with, if using the metal top rail. The screws they give you do not work with the size hold you asked to drill into the top rail, I recommend using wood. The top mount needs to be wider and only comes with two holes not four as show in the diagram. All the other bits which are advertised to come with it like size the chrome ends are two small for the holes drilled into the pole. Cable wise I would opt for something's larger and the hocks are just over sized for the cable your recommended to use. Would I purchase this again most likely not. Not often I write a poor rewiew but for the price of all the parts, just became a waste my money.

If you really want a cable railing and are willing to spend a lot of time and effort this may be for you. These are a real challenge to install and require you to be willing to try multiple times. I had to reinstall each cable multiple times to get them to stay tight. As you add more cables the post will bow in and loosen the other cables. The mounts for the top rail are too fragile and will bend if used by someone for stability. I do not recommend this if you have children or elderly. This is not durable enough.

Looks great, easy to install and fast delivery. However the bags for the screws came loose for both packages we ordered and it ended up scratching the posts during delivery, would be five stars if it was more secure…

It appeared they sent me a post that was either a return or just a damaged product. I returned it because it had scratches all over it and no matching post available. Seemed like a well built post.
