OmronWalking Style IV Step Counter (HJ-325EW)

I bought this to replace another omron pedometer I had for many years that still worked. I gave it to my husband because he was going to start walking more and wanted a step counter. (Of course, that didn't last very long, which is why I got the new one). This one works just as well and is very accurate - much more accurate than my watch step counter which counts every movement of your arm. You can rack up some seriously high number of steps in a day by making the bed, folding laundry, or dusting knick knacks.Now that I'm in my seventies, I have been trying my best to walk a minimum of 5000 steps a day (of course more is better). And I have accomplished that for over 9 months. It's surprising how checking your pedometer and realizing you need just another 500 or even 1000 steps to reach your goal can make you jump up and get moving.

An accurate tiny, superlight Pedometer. Easy to use. No real instructions, on-line instructions for multiple similar models not always relevant. For me, main thing was to get the stride right. I'm over 6' tall, and initially kept the standard 32" stride it was set for. Got real and admitted my stride was actually about 27". My morning walk went from 2.1 miles to 1.9 miles, LOL! I deleted my basic health app on my iphone that was reporting my identical daily route with variances of more than a quarter mile for each identical walk. This so is small, un-noticeable in the pocket.

These are great devices for measuring walking activity. Love the aerobic steps feature and the accuracy of this device. Only gripe is OMRON used to include an item that clipped to clothing and held the pedometer. Not so anymore.

This walker tracker is the best! It tracks your steps and it has a snap that lets you attach it to your clothing. Love it!

This one - while smaller and more discreet - is also difficult to read due to its size. At 70 I walk pretty swiftly and am in excellent physical and mental health. My eyes? Not so much. I’ve had Omrons for almost 20 years and had to pull out my magnifier to set it. It arrived with slavic language info coming up first. Finally got to English and got it set. PHEW. I still love my Omrons but I may not be able to see them in another year...lol

Determined when I retired to walk 10,000 steps every day. Used a bunch of different pedometers and wear every day. This Omron pedometer is the most accurate and consistent of any I have used. Bit pricey, but worth it.

Yesterday I walked for a hour. Pedometer in my front trousers pocket. It recorded nothing, nada, zip, zero. It regularly undercounts; I counted my steps and compared. It's no better than the cheaper one I returned for the same reason.

Well, it's not supposed to be machine washable, but mine has been machine washed twice and has come back both times and working great! If you do this by accident, remove the battery from the unit and dry the inside compartment. The first time, more water got in so it took about 3 days of standing it upright on a drying mat with the battery out to dry, but only 1 day this time. I put the battery back in, reset the settings I made when it was new, but once done, it was like a Timex - took a lickin' and kept on tickin' (you whipper snappers won't get that part). I would recommend it for that alone cause as careful as I try to be, I know I will likely do this again, but the functions seem to work fine for me as well.
