Game changer for me
This is a great product. Being able to steam things in the microwave has been a game changer for me. I steam potatoes all the time. The capacity is good—I have steamed four Yukon Gold potatoes at once, and it can probably hold almost twice that amount. It’s quicker and easier than steaming food in a pot on the stove and is easier to clean. It works great except it can be a little tricky to snap it shut. The trick is to push down on the red flap as you snap it closed. It feels reasonably well made (it is plastic) and I hope it is durable. I’m concerned about the locking flaps breaking off eventually but I’ve been using it for a few weeks now with no problems. Even so, I think it would work fine without the locking flaps.I’m very pleased with my purchase.

NOODLE bowl made in New Zealand. Sturdy, durable
Made in New Zealand. Awesome noodle bowl. Well made and durable. Has click on locks to hold the top in place. Has a click open vent cover to vent steam.. Nice handle to grab from the microwave. Holds 31.7 ounces Cool to touch. Have used it several times as a noodle bowl and heating soup. Sturdy container. Easy clean. Locks do help to keep cover on so no more splatter in microwave. Highly recommend. Went back today and ordered all of the Sistema bowls available seems to be 6 so far

Great, but with design flaws
I have had this steamer for close to 10 years. It's a workhorse. Steaming is the best way to cook vegetables, to prepare vegetables for stirfry or crudites, and to reheat frozen vegetables. Microwave steaming is easier to control than stovetop, is energy efficient, and doesn't heat up the kitchen. In fact with many vegetables, you don't even need to add water when microwaving--they self-steam, preserving all their vegetably goodness. The Sistema steamer is sturdy and about as large as it could be to fit in microwave ovens and be easily stored. I use it multiple times every week. It's reasonably priced. You should get it!However, I'll also admit to two frustrations.First, don't expect the snaps to work as easily as in the video. Yes, it is possible to lock all four down, but it takes some maneuvering and pushing since at least one isn't quite aligned. This was true even when the steamer was new. Luckily, one misaligned snap doesn't affect steaming.Second, the steamer basket-insert has a big prong right in the middle of it--something that's not obvious in any of the images. Like the metal steamers meant for steaming in pots--maybe it is meant to make it easier to remove the steamer basket? But who does that? It's easy enough just to lever up the basket and lift it out. Or for more vegetables, just to dump them out into a strainer.Anyhow, the central prong means that you can't steam anything big and flat (a piece of fish, for example) or anything on a plate. Major design flaw!Eventually, I cut off the prong. Which was hard, since the steamer is STURDY (see above). And it left a hole that corn and peas can fall through. <sigh>Sistema, you have a great product--correct this design flaw!

This Sistema microwave noodle bowl is a total win! It cooks noodles perfectly without the mess, making it a lifesaver for quick office lunches or college dorm meals. The built-in handle and clear lid are super practical, and cleanup is a breeze. Compact, efficient, and dependable—what more could you want in a weekday lunch buddy?

The perfect work lunch bowl
I had one of these that I'd been using at work for a couple of years until I left it in the break room sink overnight and some ********* either stole it or threw it away a few weeks ago. The new one I ordered just came in and I'm happy again. This thing's size and features make it extremely versatile to use at work if you're limited on personal storage space. It's large enough to make noodles, oatmeal, cereal, Huel, soup, frozen meal-prep 1c bricks, etc. without being filled to the brim. If you have tacos or a burrito and they fall apart, just dump them into this bowl and continue - there's room. The clear locking lid is a cool feature too and it has a steam vent. This helps make microwave cooking a little easier and cleaner. It also provides a little bit of extra security when you're shuttling your steaming-hot lunch from the break room back to your desk. Please note that the lid is NOT watertight. If you fill it with soup and toss it in your bag, bad things will happen.Overall, this is an awesome little microwave do-everything bowl. I just checked my order history and my last one was 3 years old before it got stolen. It was going strong and didn't have any damage or defects up to that point. This is good kit.

Microwave reliable cooking bowl with sealing lid and handle!
This locking lid bowl has many uses! Quick soup heater? Yup. Cook veggies? Yup. Well-made with excellent lid and seal mechanism. No odor absorption material seems to work well. Color-fast red color is stain resistant even to tomato sauces that stain most microwave cookers horribly. Not tastes left over from cooking session to cooking session. Size is just right for a lot of different cooking needs. Freezer to microwave works great! I like this companies products. This is the third thing I've bought from these folks. All have been money well spent.
