Q: Hello, I do not understand the sizing, the description confuses me. I am a size 9 shoe, womens.

I saw that the women's sizing is combined with the men's which is surprising. You could order a 2 or a 3. A 2 will have a tighter fit. Also order for the correct foot. I bought this twice used like new and paid 16 and 18. I use this every night and am able to do 3 mile walks every day.

Q: Would this work for hallux rigidus? Or does anyone have suggestions to relieve hallux rigidus in the big toe joint?

did not find it useful, between the toes this contraption is uncomfortable.

Q: How long do you have to wear this product before you see some improvement

Right away, the pain in the day subsided, and after 2 years of wearing it every night I can now stop wearing it. My foot doesn't hurt in the daytime anymore.

Q: I have wide feet and seem to be between sizes. I range from 6- 6.5 depending on shoe. Is 1 or 2 size better?

The range for "size 2" is shoe size 6 to 9 which is a pretty wide range -- size 1 fits shoes 5.5 to 6 . The strap that goes around the foot (in the photo it's the light grey strap at the base of the big toe) is adjustable for the amount of tension you need to straighten your toe or to accommodate your foot width. The part your toe rests in is not flexible, so if you have a really large big toe you may want to pick size 2. I wear shoe size 5.5 - 6 and bought the size 1 (right & left) splint; both are very roomy and the strap has a lot of room for adjustment.
