Verdict is still out
Mine arrived 9 days earlier than promised. Shipping from France to Iowa was impressively fast. The excelsior came with a little soft sheath which I like as my swiss army knives with cellidor scales seem to get marred easily. Knife looks the part. It is incredibly light. I don't even notice it in my pocket. It weights .8 ounces compared to a classic sd at .7 ounces. I got this knife for a light weight and easy to carry knife.I hoped it would give me a more functional blade(s) in a light package which it does in spades. The blades however don't feel as substantial as I had hoped. Also not sure the better blade option beats the utility of nail file, scissors, screw driver, tooth pick and tweezers offered by classic sd. Finally, I don't have a ton of carry time with the knife yet but not sure it fits in my hand as well as most victorinox knives. The shape is definitely different. So far the scales feel cheaper to too. I wonder if alox scales are the answer. That being said the knife appears to be well constructed, arrived sharp and is consistent with any advertising or reviews I have looked at on the knife. In short the knife seems to be what it claimed to be just not what I was hoping for. Still a nice part of my tiny collection of saks.Update: This is my least used SAK. I take it into the yard when I know I am going to do light pruning. That is pretty much the extent of its travels.Think ideal for someone who wants to light blades in an unobtrusive package.

Well built, lightweight, functional SAK
Victorinox has so many great SAKs. Pick your favorite 2 layer knife for days when you know you’ll need it, then look at the various one layer models, including this one, to carry on days when you don’t think you’ll need it. The Waiter is a good choice, but this Excelsior is lighter, thinner, and the small pen blade is quite versatile

Possible knock off
The knife is exactly what I wanted in a low profile edc folder. This knife is for the person looking for a simple, small, nearly invisible edc that comes sharp and can handle the regular day to day tasks at home and the office. This not what I would take to the woods, etc. and I will file off the key ring piece. The problem I have is that It arrived in an odd pouch that lacked any branding and that was inside a clear ziplock type bag with a generic label. I almost returned it because it raised concerns of being a fake. I compared it to other victorinox knives I have and it seems original but the packaging gives off a fake vibe. It does not appear used but again, the packaging or lack of it is questionable. If this is how the knife arrives, (Amazon or victorinox) needs to state that up front because otherwise it raises questions of authenticity and or if it was a returned product that I received.

Great Knife
This is by far my favorite knife for everyday carry. It's light. It has two excellent blades. Nothing flashy or threatening, it is easy to carry and use without anyone batting an eye when you take it out. I ordered two of these because I lost my previous one. These have the small key ring attached, which may be better because I can attach a piece of paracord to keep it from sliding out of my pocket (a problem I have with just about every knife)

Lifetime piece
I’ve been buying Victorinox knives since 1995 and one can’t go wrong with them. I bought this model after Victorinox phase it out this year. The quality and design are unrivaled.
