(It's totally bananas that this item is being given low ratings on account of not containing sand!)Living near the sea, plenty of sandy beaches around, I absolutely wanted a sandglass timer that I could fill with my own choice sand - and this is a really nice quality one. I heated some fresh-from-beach sand in a pan to dry it out fully, left it to cool, then sieved it through a very fine mesh before spooning it into the glass.Works very well at timing my fifteen-minute relaxations.

The hour glass is lovely but there is no sand in it. Not much use without the sand

I was concerned by lower star ratings until I discovered it was because there wasn’t any sand in these - which is exactly why I bought them. I wanted to keep stand from our honeymoon destination in a special and unique way. I love it so much I’ve bought 3 to make gifts for people with their special sand!

The egg timer does not come with sand. I've tried 3 types of sand (after finely shifting, etc.) and the most I can fit in the bottle is 7 minutes 15 seconds. Looks good but not useful for what I needed. Item is not as described. No info or instructions included. Can't contact seller for advice ☹️

Looked lovely, was exactly what I wanted but broke as soon as I filled it with sand from a holiday! Very disappointed kids, in the bin now!

The description said 15 minute hourglass so I took that as a fair assumption that this hourglass contained enough sand to show the passage of time of 15 minutes.However after I opened it I found that it doesn’t contain 1 single grain of sand.Ironically this has all been a waste of time.
