Yet not too complex for a 12 year old. I bought two of these books, one for my father in law and one for a 12 year old boy who loves science. The boy immediately started reading through the book and began torturing his family with the tricks. :) Review: I love it because it actually means he is enjoying reading - My 9 year old loves this book. I love it because it actually means he is enjoying reading. It's also fun to watch him challenge his big brother!

Granted, some of the tricks in the book are a bit lame, but most are novel and challenging. Yet not too complex for a 12 year old. I bought two of these books, one for my father in law and one for a 12 year old boy who loves science. Fun book. Great gift for pre-teen.
Gift for my pre-teen daughter and she loved it and still does months later.

Some are just very clever, others will teach you/your kids a few things
Fun, fast reading. Good for party conversation. Some might be useful for entertaining kids during the holidays.

You would never actually win a bet with this book!!!
These so called "bets" are just old and simple magic tricks that people already know. I learned most of these tricks from my Boy Scout magic trick book that was written in the 1970's. You would never win a bet if people already know the basics of the trick.
