Intense dislike.
The art was good, but that's about all this had going for it. It jumps around, has female characters who feel rather unimportant, and/or interchangeable. The whole thing felt pretty pointless to me, and I barely got through it.

AWESOME
It was extreamly adorable and intense at the same time...Apparentoy the main charecter is a guy who has gone out with and also broke many girls hearts, then about 10 years later he sees a face that provokes his memory, the hing is, he doesn't remeber whos face that is.I think that this will be a very great manga and I will definetly read more

Good story, hard to follow
I like the story and have high hopes to see where to goes. It does jump around a lot and takes some focus to understand, but take the time and I think it's worth it.

This pretty cover hides a dark, painful story that is well worth reading
I initially grabbed this manga from the library shelf because of the pretty, pretty covers. I didn't expect such a difficult, disturbing story. Even on my second read when I know what's coming, it's tough to watch. "Bittersweet tale of romance and regret" isn't exactly how I'd describe it, y'all. It's darker than that. I'm glad I read it, and I'm going to continue reading it, but it's not at all what I thought I was getting. As it says in the description, Yusuke Serizawa has an accident that re-connects him (by phone) with a woman from his past, but she won't tell him who she is. Narratively, this is the frame for Serizawa to review his past relationships with girls and women. The first is with an ostracized classmate. After bullying and physical assault from his friends because of his crush, he physically takes his anger out on the girl. The second relationship is with a deeply unhappy English visiting student who regularly lashes out at Serizawa, both physically and verbally. He blames himself for the end of their relationship over (what he perceives as) an argument and his impulsive harsh words. So we have two relationships that involve physical violence. The third, which begins in this volume and concludes in the next, is an unrequited crush on a teacher.I perceive Serizawa as pretty low on self-insight, and his decisions about what's his fault seem oddly skewed at times. He's not a bad guy, I don't think, but he's clearly often motivated by other people rather than having a solid core of his own. Reading this after the series A Silent Voice is particularly interesting. There's a turning point for both Serizawa and the main male character of ASV where they decide to be better people, even if they have only the foggiest understanding of how to go about it.Visually, the art style is pleasant and competent. I'm not a big fan of the lettering, which often seems intrusive, but not enough to spoil the series for me.

Good start
~3.5/5(Contains light spoilers.)I thought the description sounded really interesting to me, and yet I still didn’t expect this.Yusuke, now in college (I think? Or around that age at least), gets distracted while on his bike and gets hit. He finds out that the woman who distracted him also called for the ambulance, and that she’s someone he hurt in his past, but she won't tell him who she is. But there were so many girls he hurt, he doesn’t know who it was. And so we go back in his memory, meeting each girl he hurt in middle and high school, and what happened and why she might be doing this to him now.We meet a couple of the women in this volume, one girl who he was too embarrassed to be upfront about his feelings with when his classmates teased him. Another foreign girl who he dated, and the breakup was bad from his point-of-view. And finally a teacher, close in age, who he forms a relationship with and who he encourages to be more confident. This volume took me by surprise, and I didn’t quite expect this. But it was a pleasant surprise. He was a jerk in the first story, and at other times, but he learned. I quite enjoyed this volume, and I look forward to reading the next one.[More of my reviews are available on my blog, Geeky Reading, to which there's a link on my profile.]

I wanted to start reading manga and this was the first book I got. The story was easy to understand and there were not to many characters in the book. Also there aren't many other volumes for this book, so you won't feel overwhelmed.
