This desk was very easy to put together quickly. The only thing is you have to attach the top with wood screws and there are no pilot holes. If you have a drill there is no problem. I just put the top on the floor, turned the assembled frame upside down, centered the frame and screwed into the top. It's very sturdy and well constructed.

It would be a fine, cheap desk if it wasn't damaged on both sides and all four corners. Really?

I received my desk today and was greeted by a few large gouges and holes in the box. Fortunately, there was no damage to the desk itself, but there very easily could have been if the gouges had been slightly up or down in either directly. Regarding the desk itself, the quality is good (nothing spectacular, expect something roughly around the quality of IKEA's mid to lower priced items). During assembly, I found a few flaws that I think everyone should know prior to purchasing this product. Yes, it is flat-pack furniture and very easy to assemble, however ****take note -- the desktop is not drilled or marked in any way.**** Not only is it not drilled, but there is no included template to assist in installation of the top. As a result, for someone that does not have a small drill at their disposal may have a very hard time installing the screws for the top. (The material is your typical plastic covered fiberboard.) Without a drill, one will require quite a bit of strength to get the screws started (I recommend that if you don't have a drill to at least pick up an awl and hammer to make indentations before you attempt to install the screws). Fortunately, I own a decent selection of tools, so I was able to carefully measure, mark and drill the top to enable the screws to go in easily. My second issue is also related to the desktop; there are no washers included for the screws! Normally when you have a screw for installation of something onto metal, you want a washer there to evenly distribute the force of the screw head. It's not 100% necessary to have washers for the assembly of this desk, but it's a good idea to add some between the screw head and the desk frame. The third issue has the do with the frame and the feet. The feet themselves are fine and the way in which they install is very simple. However, my issue is with the threaded portion of the frame where the feet screw into. The powdercoating on the frame is moderately thick, but as the construction is somewhat cheap, on some of the threads where the feet screw in, there was a heavy build-up of powdercoating. As a result, to get the feet to properly screw in, I had to clean out the threads a bit by slowly screwing the foot in, backing it and cleaning out the resulting loose debris. (just something to keep an eye out for if you have trouble with the feet) Other than the assembly issues, I'm overall satisfied with the desk. The size is good for someone that likes a bigger desk that's not a behemoth, and the construction is sufficiently stable. The desktop is plasticky with no pattern, like most flatpack furniture, and the frame is a simple silver powdercoat.

So here's the deal with this desk, it's ideally perfect in the sense of size and depth. It's got the perfect dimensions of a gaming desk even though it's intended as a writing desk. It gives plenty of mouse space for all you avid PC gamers out there and is aesthetically pleasing. I even have a dual monitor mount set up on this desk and getting a tri-monitor mount would be cake for this desk to handle. However, if you order this desk you will be so lucky it come's in perfect condition. There is simply not enough packaging protecting the desk. The top laminate of the first one that I ordered had 3 out of 4 corners destroyed due to shipping and not enough packaging. There's just thin strips of Styrofoam along the sides of the box with one medium sized piece to keep the legs/loose parts from shifting around. Now when I say destroyed corners I mean it looks like the desk was dropped about 5 feet on each corner and the laminate broke away and the plasterboard was exposed. After talking with my sister she convinced me to replace the desk. This took me some time to due because I wanted to mull it over. I ended up deciding to and the new desk that arrived was of better quality with only one corner being slightly damaged. However, I'm not going to cause a fuss over one corner that's the back left corner of the desk being dinged up. One last thing, there aren't any predrilled holes for mounting the legs to the desk. There are little holes of where the screws go, I recommend taking a thin nail and driving it into each of the holes with a hammer to make screwing the screws in a lot easier if you don't have a drill. All-in-all for the price of this desk, I would have expected a little better, but still my idea of a perfect gaming desk.

It's a desk. It technically works, so two stars - but it definitely isn't worth your time. First, the packaging is inadequate, so the corners of the table top will be damaged from shipping - it's inevitable really, given the weight and lack of padding/protection (see other reviews). Now, can you return this product? Yes, but it's a huge hassle. Good luck getting everything back in the thin, probably damaged packaging, hauling it to some place to drop it off, etc. If you order it because e.g. you don't have a vehicle, this product is effectively unreturnable. Assembly is a pain, but not too difficult. Somehow, despite the metal construction, it's very wobbly and not sturdy at all. Don't be me. Save yourself time in the long run and just get an IKEA one in the first place. Their shipping might be appallingly slow, but at least it'll arrive undamaged. And theirs doesn't wobble.
