I’ve read a few negative reviews stating that a particular dehumidifier doesn’t dry the air out of the box. I needed a decently sized unit to pull moisture from a lanai containing a lot of plants in my south Florida home. When I set this unit up, let it set for 24 hours, turned off the portable AC I had been running as a dehumidifier, and fired it up, I was very disappointed to see the humidity immediately spike about15% as hot air was being blown from the unit. I decided to leave the unit running as I went to my study to read up on refrigerant dehumidifier operation, reading that these units won’t get all of the moisture out on the first pass, often converting saturating the warm air with water vapor. Thus, when I went back into the lanai 45 minutes later, the humidity had already dropped by 25% !!! Now, my lanai is much more comfortable, and my plants seem much happier as they are able to consume more water. This is a great little unit for the price!

I purchased this unit for a 384 sq ft cabin in coastal south Texas to help pull moisture out of the air. I can not use this device when I am there. The noise and heat it produces make it impossible to run when I am at the cabin. Because I don’t trust the constant drain systems, I have it unit sitting in the shower, even with the bathroom door closed it is impossible to run this unit while we are there. Running it when we are not there to help reduce moisture and ensure mold growth will not occur, the heat that it produces cause the hvac system to run longer.

I recently had to replace a GE dehumidifier for our basement that is no longer being manufactured.I literally tried a total of 5 different manufacturers and ended sending them all back accept for this unit the Colzer 5500 sq ft unit. This unit actually works great as advertised and is simple to use. It takes out about one full bucket of water daily. It is situated by our laundry area. I would recommend using it on the "DRY" mode of operation. This is the most effective setting and will allow you to give it a rest of several hours between bucket fills if you choose. Once again this unit is quiet and it actually works well. It is the best dehumidifier I have ever owned!

Dehumidifier works as intended. I dump a full tank about every 4 or so hours. It brings my house from about 50% down to about 40% humidity, fluctuating some based on time of day. The problem is that you can't trust the manufacturer square footage calculation. This thing will not dehumidify a home of the size it advertises. None of them will. Yes, it's physically removing gallons of water per day from the air, but air holds a lot of water. My home can hold about 6 gallons of water at any given time at 70-deg F and 50% humidity. And while this thing can put a dent in that, it's not enough to make a huge difference, and must run continuously or the ground it does gain is lost within a few hours.Limiting the number of times you open and close exterior doors, ensuring windows and other exterior features are sealed well, and not showering excessively long or with the bathroom door open, will go much further to reduce humidity than any moderately priced dehumidifier on the market.

This is our second Colzer dehumidifier. Both have worked very well. When emptying the water bucket on our latest purchase, the handle broke. Made a mess and frustrating but those things can happen. It's how the company responds that's the real test. I emailed Customer Service and received a prompt reply. After an easy exchange of information, they shipped me a replacement handle which snapped right into place. Very responsive, very friendly and helpful service. I'm sure I'll use them for my next dehumidifier purchase.

Product stopped working after 18 months. Absolutely no customer support from Colzer as far as getting a replacement or refund under warranty. They said that the dehumidifier had to be purchased from their store in order for it to be covered under warranty. Product was purchased on the Amazon website.

I initially rated this product one star because the performance was not what they claimed however, I must say that I was wrong. Customer service contacted me about this issue and assured me that it was a problem with the unit itself and they sent me a replacement. Sure enough the replacement lived up to the expectations. I was very pleased with the performance as I tested it against my 70 pint dehumidifier. This is how I verified the performance the first time. Excellent customer service.

Using this dehumidifier in my indoor pool room along with another older unit. Bought this unit to bolster the performance of the one we already have. Was interested in the 100 pint per day performance. I like the auto pump with included plastic hose. But everything is cheaply made so do not expect anything that will last. For example, one of the plastic castor wheels came busted in the packaging. So the whole unit leans forward. The plastic castor wheel is small and reminds me of the old Cracker Jack toys from my youth. From 1 to 10, 10 being the best. Overall I would give this product a 6 or 7. Not expecting this to be around for long. Was low cost as dehumidifiers go so in terms of value maybe an 8. So far.
